Between September 4 and 6, the Amazônia Jazz Band arrives in Marabá, a municipality located in the Carajás Integration Region, with an intense program of concerts conducted by the principal conductor Eduardo Lima and workshops organized by the Pará Music Academy (APM).

The Secretary of State for Culture, Ursula Vidal, explains that the State Government's policy of audience formation and professionalization of orchestras and artistic bodies gains more beautiful dimensions with the possibility of circulation and interiorization. “We have already performed in some UsiPaz (Usinas da Paz) outside of Belém, reaching the Metropolitan Region and other municipalities. Now, we arrive in the southeastern region of Pará with two performances in different locations for different audiences, ensuring an exchange with musicians and instrumentalists from the region, making our presence throughout Pará a celebration of the shows and exchanges among music professionals,” she emphasizes.

This initiative is a realization of the Government of Pará, through the Secretary of State for Culture (Secult), Theatro da Paz, APM, with master sponsorship from the Vale Cultural Institute via the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture and support from the City Hall of Marabá, through the Marabá Cultural House Foundation.

Schedule – On Thursday, September 4, the Amazônia Jazz Band will hold an educational concert, a presentation for students from public schools in the region, starting at 3 PM at the Eduardo Abdelnor Municipal Theater. On the same day, the Big Band will perform at 7 PM, bringing together regional, national, and international music in a special show. Tickets for the 7 PM concert will cost R$ 2 and will be distributed starting at 10 AM on the 4th at the Municipal Theater.

For the principal conductor of the Amazônia Jazz Band, Eduardo Lima, the trip to Marabá is a very special opportunity, and the audience in the region can expect danceable shows full of hits. “The people of Marabá will feel the energy of Amazonian music with cumbia, merengue, and lambada. It will be an unforgettable few days in Marabá.”

On the 5th (Friday), the musicians of the Big Band from Theatro da Paz will conduct the Instrumental Workshop on drums, trombone, percussion, saxophone, and trumpet with the respective members: Tiago Belém, Bruno Nery, Claudio Costa, Vinicius Ribeiro, Laelson Machado, Anderley Canuto, Gerson Levy, and Wilklenson Bezerra. Registrations for the workshop can be made in person at the Marabá Cultural House Foundation.
