Belém to Host Men's Volleyball Club World Championship in December 2025
Arena Guilherme Paraense will host, for the first time, the main club competition of the sport in the world
Arena Guilherme Paraense – the Mangueirinho – will be the stage, for the first time, of the Men's Volleyball Club World Championship. The tournament, considered the most important at the club level, will take place from December 15 to 21 in Belém, organized by the International Volleyball Federation (FIVB) and HM7 Entertainment, with support from the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Sports and Leisure (Seel).
Three Brazilian teams have already confirmed their participation in the competition. Vôlei Renata (Campinas) will participate as the host country representative and organizer of the event. Sada Cruzeiro, the current champion of the 2024 World Championship and also of the South American Club Championship, will enter to defend the title. Praia Clube secured a spot by being the runner-up of the South American Championship.

This will be the second edition of the World Championship held in Brazil – the first took place in 2024, in Uberlândia (MG). The choice of Belém reinforces Pará's positioning on the route of major national and international sports events. In February of this year, Arena Mangueirinho hosted the match between Vôlei Renata and Sada Cruzeiro, for the 7th round of the Men's Volleyball Superliga, return leg of the 2024/2025 competition, breaking the national attendance record with about 9,000 present at the national classic. In recent years, the capital of Pará has hosted matches of the Men's Football World Cup Qualifiers, the Women's Basketball Pre-Olympic, and qualifying matches of the AmeriCup in Basketball.
The State Secretary of Sports and Leisure, Cássio Andrade, highlighted the significance of the announcement.
“Bringing the Men's Volleyball Club World Championship to Belém is another milestone for Pará's sports. It shows that Mangueirinho is on par with the world's great arenas and that our fans have established themselves as one of the most passionate and participative in the country. The State Government continues to invest so that Pará becomes increasingly prominent in high-level sports events.”
There is still no definition regarding all participants and the official schedule of the competition, which will be confirmed by the FIVB in November.
In the previous edition, in December 2024, Sada Cruzeiro won its fifth title by defeating the Italian Trentino in the final, equaling the historic rival in the number of titles. For 2025, the expectation is for another high-level competition, with strengthened clubs – such as Praia Clube, which has signed prominent athletes like Isac, Paulo, and Resley for the 2025/2026 season.

The technology is also present in the state-of-the-art multimedia electronic scoreboard, similar to those used in NBA games, the basketball league in the United States.
The equipment is positioned in the center of the court, in a circular shape, providing the audience with a complete view from anywhere in the Arena. The Arena also has seven locker rooms, including two for men, two for women, two for people with disabilities, and one for referees.
