The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Justice (Seju), held this Sunday (31) in Praça da República, Belém, the action "Educational blitz against drugs." The activity is part of the programming of the Paraense Week for Prevention and Combat of Drug Use and was promoted in partnership with the State Department of Transit (Detran) and Military Police (PMPA) with the aim of raising awareness among drivers and pedestrians about the risks of chemical dependency.

According to Renata Hage, Justice Director of Seju, the action took advantage of the square's space to make the anti-drug campaign more visible. "There is a large flow of people and vehicles on Sundays, and this allows for a greater reach of the prevention message directly to the streets," she explains.

Informational materials about the risks of drugs, especially electronic cigarettes, were distributed. In addition, the action promoted the proposals of the Paraense Week campaign against drugs to pedestrians and drivers passing through the area, emphasizing the importance of collective prevention work.

Craftswoman Leila da Luz frequents Praça da República on Sundays and approved the initiative. "It's good to take advantage of the movement here and show the risks of these substances. I already knew, for example, that electronic cigarettes are a danger to the health of young people, who consume this product more. Now I have even more information to pass on."

Interaction with youth - To increase the reach of the action among families of children and youth, the educational blitz included the participation of the Geração Cosplay Pará project, from PMPA, where staff dressed as superheroes interact with passersby. In addition, games and materials aimed at children were also made available.
