The Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Justice (Seju), promoted the event "Influencers of Good" at the Vilhena Alves State Technical School in Belém on this Monday (1st). The action is part of the Pará Week for Prevention and Combat of Drug Use and involved various activities promoted in partnership with the educational institution.

The event included document issuance services

The event included document issuance services and free certificates; a lecture on human trafficking; an exhibition of student projects; a workshop on cleaning product production; a musical performance; and a quiz with participation from representatives of the Paysandu football club. The goal was to highlight the role of students in collaborative actions that help to avoid contact with drugs.

The ombudsman of the Justice Secretariat, Cimara Vidal, highlighted the participation of students in the program

Cimara Vidal, Justice Ombudsman of Seju and vice-president of the State Council on Drugs (Coned), explained that the participation of students in the program was fundamental. "The school's actions align closely with the proposal of Pará Week, which emphasizes the importance of young people encouraging each other in sports, research, and other activities outside the classroom, thus distancing themselves from drugs and other harms," she emphasized.

Dialogue and inclusion - The work developed by the school community not only contributes to the students' learning but also reinforces solidarity bonds. "It is very important for schools to engage with this type of event because students develop a more inclusive perspective. If there are signs of someone using drugs, we quickly seek to help. Because we know that it is someone with problems and, later on, it can affect society," stated Guilherme Luiz, a third-year student.

Third-year student Guilherme Luiz said that this type of initiative is essential for everyone's well-being

During the event, awards were given to students who collected donations of hygiene products for therapeutic communities aimed at drug dependents. Vânia Carneiro, director of Vilhena Alves School and a member of Coned, highlighted that the exchange of information between different spaces contributes to the success of prevention actions.

"Often, the school is the first to notice that a young person is using legal or illegal drugs. It is not enough to just reprimand. That is why it is important to learn by talking to other directors, attending Coned meetings, or interacting with the students themselves to better understand how to reduce the likelihood of drug use," she emphasized.

The director of Vilhena Alves School, Vânia Carneiro, believes it is essential to have a differentiated perspective on young people

The Pará Week for Prevention and Combat of Drug Use continues until this Tuesday (2nd), with the theme "Drugs, human rights, and new perspectives."
