Attorney General of the State of Pará swears in first woman in 40 years
Ana Carolina Gluck Paul took office this week, replacing Ricardo Nasser Sefer, who assumed the Secretary of Education of Pará (Seduc)

The appointment of the new Attorney General of the State of Pará, Ana Carolina Gluck Paul, was published on Wednesday (3) in the Official State Gazette (DOE) and represents a historic milestone for the institution: she is the first woman to take command of the Attorney General's Office (PGE) in the 40 years of the agency's existence.
Ana Carolina is a state attorney, lawyer, graduated from the Federal University of Pará (UFPA), with a specialization in Civil Law and Procedure, as well as a master's degree in Law from the Pontifical Catholic University of São Paulo (PUC-SP), a university professor for 20 years, has been a public defender and deputy attorney general of the PGE's Controversy. Until then, she served as the Attorney General of the Municipality of Belém, the state capital.
"My expectation is to try to meet the trust that has been placed in me, that the governor has placed, to respond to the messages of support that the class has sent me, the class also trusted me, I have to respond to this trust and, above all, meet the expectation of being the first woman to hold this position. We have already had interim women in this position, including the first was my mother, now the holder, I am the first. So, I think I owe this to all women, I owe it to all women to make a good management to show that we have arrived, and where we have arrived, we are capable of performing excellent work, so these are my expectations," said Ana Carolina Gluck Paul, Attorney General of the State.
The new Attorney General will succeed the position that was previously held by State Attorney Ricardo Nasser Sefer, who will now serve exclusively as Secretary of Education of the State (Seduc), a position he has held since June 2025.
"I leave with a sense of duty fulfilled. It has been six years and nine months since the beginning of the management. I think that I, and a great team that makes up the PGE, have made our contribution. We were responsible for significant advances in the area of computerization, in the area of conciliation, in the area of professionalization of the working methods of the PGE, of expanding the PGE to all secretariats, entities of indirect administration, in short, of the protagonism of the Attorney's Office in recent years. So, I leave with a sense of duty fulfilled and with the awareness of a next challenge, which is the Secretary of Education. But, also, with the feeling that I am leaving the management in good hands, which are Carol's hands, who knew, lived, and built a good part of these victories that we had in recent years," said the former Attorney General of the State, Ricardo Sefer, current Secretary of Education.
