Sefa seizes 875 shelves in Cachoeira do Piriá

Inspectors from the State Department of Finance (Sefa) seized, on Sunday (07), 875 shelves with irregular tax documentation. The goods are valued at R$ 113,741.25. The officials are assigned to the Tax Unit for Control of Goods in Transit in Gurupi, the municipality of Cachoeira do Piriá, in northeastern Pará, bordering Maranhão.
“A truck from Horizonte (CE) heading to Ananindeua (PA) was transporting the shelves. After the start of the inspection and delivery of the tax documents, the officials suspected the veracity of the information contained in the presented documents, as the documents indicated that the transported goods were primary products (polypropylene sheets) that are exempt from tax. A physical verification of the cargo was carried out and the 875 plastic shelves were found, that is, industrialized goods subject to tax payment,” said the unit coordinator, Gustavo Bozola.
The goods were retained, the invoice disregarded, and a Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was issued in the amount of R$ 38,899.51, referring to the tax and fine.
