HRPM opens registry office and facilitates the registration of babies born in the unit
The main objective of the initiative is to ensure that newborns in the HRPM maternity ward leave with their birth certificate, free of charge and immediately.

As a reference in the care of high-risk pregnancies, the Regional Public Hospital of Marajó (HRPM), in Breves, inaugurated this month the registry office service within the unit, ensuring more comfort and practicality for mothers. Now, babies born at HRPM can be discharged with their birth certificate issued.
The initiative results from a partnership between HRPM, the Breves city hall, and the 1st Civil Registry Office of the Breves District, formalized through a Technical Cooperation Agreement that enabled the installation of the Interconnected Birth Registration Unit within the hospital premises.
Ester Caroline da Silva was the first baby registered at the Marajó Regional registry office. The mother, Luciene Silva de Freitas, reported that she received excellent service at the hospital and highlighted that the new service is a significant advancement, as it facilitates the registration process.
“The registry office service in the hospital is very good because it helps us. Now we don’t need to go to the registry office; we just need to have the documents in hand. The child leaves with the document,” pointed out the housewife. She praised HRPM for its quality and continuous pursuit of innovation, always offering the best service to the population. “I feel safe here because we have all the support we need,” she concluded.
Jusciely Machado, executive director of the hospital, explains that the main objective of the initiative is to ensure that newborns in the HRPM maternity ward leave with their birth certificate, free of charge and immediately, without the need for families to travel to the registry office.
“This initiative represents a significant advancement for the community, ensuring, in a practical and humanized way, the fundamental right to civil identity for newborns,” emphasized the manager.

The service operates from Monday to Friday, from 2 PM to 5 PM, serving exclusively HRPM users. It is important to emphasize that death and stillbirth registrations are not carried out at the interconnected unit and must be done directly at the Breves Registry Office.
From January to July of this year, HRPM facilitated 315 births for the Marajoara population.
