Five streets in the Terra Firme neighborhood were delivered on the morning of this Saturday (13)

The government of Pará delivered new asphalt paving works in the Terra Firme neighborhood, in Belém, on the morning of this Saturday (13). The Jarana, São Paulo, Lírio 1, Lírio 2 alleys and the Sucupira passage received asphalt paving, earthworks, drainage, sidewalk construction, curb and gutter, as well as signage, ensuring more infrastructure and quality of life for the population.

"The State's investment in paving works in the neighborhoods and districts of Belém is a commitment of Governor Helder Barbalho's administration and Vice Governor Hana Ghassan, in addition to having the support of the municipal government through Mayor Igor Normando. This is work that will increasingly provide dignity and mobility to the population of Belém's neighborhoods," says the Secretary of Public Works, Ruy Cabral.

State and municipal authorities celebrate the delivery, which improves the quality of life of the neighborhood's population

The Mayor of Belém, Igor Normando, highlighted the importance of the partnership between the federal, state, and municipal governments for the delivery of works and the constant announcement of new investments in the capital of Pará.

"I want to thank God and every resident who believed in the work and is now seeing the result at their doorstep. Belém has many difficulties, but when we unite for a cause, we can overcome challenges. If we have managed and are managing to do a lot in our city, it is because we join with the state government and the federal government," said Igor Normando.

Luciete Alves saw many neighbors move away due to the conditions they lived in on the Jarana passage

Retiree Luciete Alves, 69, recalls the difficulties arising from the lack of asphalt paving, which drove many residents away from the Jarana passage, one of the beneficiaries of the services carried out by the State Department of Public Works (Seop) in the Terra Firme neighborhood.

"Here was just mud. I am one of the last remaining residents of the street who lived in that situation because the rest sold their houses, saying it would never get better. But things have changed because we have a government; before we had no one to do it for us. Now, the police car and the ambulance can come in, thank God. Thank you very much, Governor Helder Barbalho, for what you have done and continue to do for our city," said Luciete Alves.

With an investment of R$ 647,358.00, the works were carried out through the "Asphalt All Over Pará" Program, which, since 2019, has been providing more infrastructure and urban mobility for the capital of Pará and other municipalities in the State.

"Today was the day for the government of Pará to deliver new asphalt works, now in the Terra Firme neighborhood. Our Governor Helder Barbalho and our Vice Governor Hana Ghassan are always closely monitoring this work with the municipalities, not only in Belém but in other municipalities," says the Director of Inspection and Monitoring of Works at Seop, Cristina Guedes.

The state government has been working together with the municipalities to carry out interventions like this

Asphalt All Over Pará Program – Since 2019, the government of Pará has already released more than 250 kilometers of asphalt paving for Belém, the largest investment in infrastructure and urban mobility in the history of the State. Since then, the Terra Firme neighborhood has benefited from nearly 17 kilometers of paving works.
