Tomorrow begins the III Symposium on Quality and Patient Safety, expecting 800 professionals connected in Pará
The symposium will take place online and simultaneously in five public health units: HRSP, Galileu, and the Polyclinics of Carajás, Metropolitana, and Tucuruí

Tomorrow (16) will mark the beginning of the III Symposium on Quality and Patient Safety, which will be held online and simultaneously, bringing together around 800 health professionals. The event will continue until the 17th, in commemoration of World Patient Safety Day, celebrated by the World Health Organization (WHO) on September 17.
"Quality and patient safety are fundamental pillars of public health. When we strengthen these practices within our units, we ensure not only efficiency but, above all, trust, humanization, and better outcomes for the population that depends on SUS," says the Secretary of State for Public Health, Ivete Vaz.
The initiative is promoted by the health units of the Government of Pará, managed by the Institute of Social and Environmental Health of the Amazon (ISSAA), in partnership with the Secretary of State for Public Health (Sespa).

The program will be shared by the five units managed by ISSAA – Galileu State Public Hospital (HPEG), Southeast Pará Regional Hospital (HRSP), Metropolitan Polyclinic, Marabá Polyclinic, and Tucuruí Lake Polyclinic – reinforcing team integration and commitment to safe, efficient, and humanized care.
The administrative director of ISSAA, Rodrigo Moreira, highlights the strategic value of the meeting: "Investing in quality and patient safety means investing in efficiency, trust, and humanization in SUS. The Symposium allows us to discuss challenges, share practical solutions, and strengthen the integration of the units in the network. It is an institutional commitment to excellence in care," he said.
Scientific production in focus - One of the major highlights of this edition will be the presentation of 16 works developed by collaborators from the units, divided into four thematic axes that reflect the challenges and advances in public health.

There will be five hours of presentations, with 15 minutes dedicated to each project, covering areas of Digital Transformation and Innovation, modernizing hospital processes; Operational Efficiency and Surgical Safety, focused on patient flows and journeys; Clinical-assistance processes with value and safety, focusing on prevention, humanization, and qualification of care.
In addition to these themes, participants will have access to watch works related to Environment, territory, and health: safety beyond the walls, connecting traditional knowledge and sustainability in health.

Theme - With the theme "Patient Safety and Sustainability: Responsible Care from the Start," the symposium follows the WHO's global proposal for 2025, advocating for safe and sustainable care practices from the first stage of care.
"The Symposium is a strategic opportunity to integrate best practices across all ISSAA units, strengthening the culture of patient safety. Safety and sustainability go hand in hand, and our mission is to ensure that care is responsible from the beginning of the patient's journey," concludes Paula Narjara, Corporate Manager of Quality and Patient Safety at ISSAA.
