Emater benefits 50 families with the National Family Farming Registration in Belém
The benefit provided reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to improve the quality of life and income of small producers in the State

The Government of Pará, through the Technical Assistance and Rural Extension Company of the State of Pará (Emater-Pará), benefited fifty açaí-producing families on Wednesday (17) by delivering 50 National Family Farming Registrations (CAF) in the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Community in Belém.
This action is the result of efforts made in the region to assist family farmers supported by Emater, providing access to public policies for small rural producers in all 144 municipalities of the State of Pará.
“I have been planting açaí for fifteen years and now, with the support of Emater, I am receiving the CAF, which is our identity as rural producers. It is a great satisfaction to have this document now because it will give us rights to what we are entitled to, which is our visibility and also access to credit lines to increase our production,” said Oneide Freitas, an açaí producer from Belém.

She mentioned that after gaining access to credit lines with financing agents partnered with the Government of Pará, she intends to invest in another productive chain. “I plan to invest in cocoa planting. I even have some seedlings, but with the support of Emater, I will be able to learn how to manage and increase my income,” she said.
Like her, Gabriel Pinheiro, an açaí producer, celebrated the delivery of the CAF. For him, having the document in hand represents much more than just a piece of paper, but an opportunity for growth within the fruit market in our State.
“Now that I have the CAF, after more than ten years working with açaí production and sales, I will be able to think about other projects, such as expanding my land and increasing my family's income. It represents many important things for us who are farmers. We have never had access to this, and now, with the support of Emater, we can be recognized and valued,” he emphasized.
The initiative is the result of two efforts made in the Nossa Senhora dos Navegantes Community, which primarily engages in açaí planting and fishing. “It is with great satisfaction that we, from Emater, are delivering these fifty CAFs to these families here in the region. We have already conducted documentation analyses with the support of the financing agent, who will soon release rural credits so that dozens of farming families can have the guarantee of improved quality of life and income,” concluded Ricardo Barata, head of the Regional Office of the Islands of Emater-Pará.
