Police arrest 75 people in the second phase of operation in more than 40 cities in Pará

On this Thursday (18), arrest and search warrants were executed in an action with the support of 386 civil police officers in the municipalities and districts

On the morning of this Thursday (18), the Civil Police of Pará launched the second phase of the "Critical Point" operation, which has so far resulted in a total of 75 arrests of individuals investigated for drug trafficking, illegal possession of firearms, illegal possession of ammunition, and criminal association, as well as the seizure of several weapons, narcotic substances, cell phones, ammunition, gun magazines, cash, and precision scales.

The action was coordinated by the Interior Police Directorate (DPI) with the support of the Police Intelligence Center (NIP) and the Special Operations and Resources Coordination (CORE) and took place in all Integrated Public Security Regions in the interior of Pará.

"We executed 90 search and seizure warrants, made 59 arrests in compliance with warrants issued by the Justice and 16 arrests in the act. The second phase of the 'Critical Point' operation demonstrates the commitment and dedication of the Civil Police to reinforce public safety in the cities and districts of the State's interior," pointed out Delegate Hennison Jacob, head of the DPI.

The police action took place simultaneously in Acará, Afuá, Alenquer, Altamira, Aurora do Pará, Bagre, Bom Jesus do Tocantins, Breu Branco, Breves, Capanema, Canaã dos Carajás, Conceição do Araguaia, Concórdia do Pará, Curionópolis, Dom Eliseu, Eldorado, Gurupá, Itaituba, Marabá, Moraes de Almeida, Novo Progresso, Ourém, Parauapebas, Portel, Porto de Moz, Quatro-Bocas, Redenção, Rio Maria, Rondon do Pará, Salinópolis, Santa Cruz do Arari, Santana do Araguaia, Santarém, São Sebastião, São Félix do Xingu, Soure, Tomé-Açu, Tracuateua, Tucuruí, Ulianópolis, and Xinguara.

Civil police officers from all Superintendencies, Delegacies, and Sections of the DPI were assigned to reinforce policing and combat crimes such as robbery, theft, homicide, extortion, sexual abuse of vulnerable individuals, drug trafficking, violation of protective measures, attempted homicide, bodily injury, among others.

"In the Regional Superintendency of Baixo Tocantins, the operations took place both in the urban and rural areas of the municipality of Acará. A woman was arrested in the act for illegal possession of a firearm, criminal association, and illegal arms trade. A man was also arrested in the act for drug trafficking. Here, a total of five cell phones, a homemade shotgun, some detonators, as well as 35 packets of marijuana and 64 of crack were seized," explained Delegate Mhoab Khayan, superintendent of the region.

Specialized Police Stations for Women (DEAM), Children and Adolescents (DEACA), Homicide Police Stations (DH), and the Investigation Support Centers (NAI) in the interior also participated in the police operation.
