Civil Police arrests teacher suspected of raping teenager in Belém
According to the investigations, the suspect took advantage of his position as an educator to psychologically coerce the victim

The Civil Police, through the Specialized Delegation for the Care of Children and Adolescents (Deaca/CPC), in partnership with the Scientific Police of Pará (PCEPA), launched Operation Last Class and executed, on the morning of this Thursday (18), preventive arrest and search and seizure warrants against an English teacher investigated for qualified rape of a 15-year-old student at a private school in Belém.
Delegate Emanuela Amorim, head of the Directorate for the Care of Vulnerable Groups (DAV), detailed that the suspect took advantage of his position as an educator to get close to the victim. “The investigation proved that the victim was psychologically coerced by the suspect, even showing symptoms of anxiety and low blood pressure,” she explained.

Additionally, the victim reported that there was production of pornographic material from the lewd act, which is why the Computer Forensics Management (GPI) of PCEPA was requested to the Computer Forensics Location, a type of forensic examination where the suspected electronic devices are collected and examined.
During the operation, a mobile phone was seized. According to forensic expert Marcelo Maués, the device underwent preliminary inspections at the seizure site, but a thorough analysis will be conducted in the laboratory. “Using forensic tools, we will be able to extract and analyze the data in detail. This process is essential for the production of forensic evidence,” he explained.
In light of the evidence obtained during the investigation of the case, the police authority requested the preventive arrest of the suspect, who was located at his residence. “The investigation gathered evidence such as exchanged messages, witness testimonies, specialized listening of the victim, and reports from family members who confirmed the emotional changes of the teenager after the crimes,” clarified delegate João Castanho, head of Deaca/CPC.
According to the delegate, “the Scientific Police is essential for this type of investigation, as only with the partnership between institutions can the warrants be fulfilled.”
After the warrants were executed, the suspect was arrested and taken to the prison system, where he remains at the disposal of the Justice.
