Consep swears in new councilors from the Military Police and the Public Ministry

The body is responsible for discussing public policies related to Security, investigating situations, studying resolutions, and proposing mechanisms for the integrated action of various bodies.

The 395th ordinary meeting of the Public Security and Social Defense Council of Pará (Consep), held on the morning of this Thursday, 17, at the headquarters of the Secretariat of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), swore in the new councilor representing the Military Police of the State (PMPA), Colonel Sérgio Neves, and also the new titular councilor of the Public Ministry of Pará (MPPA), Érika Menezes.

Leading the meeting, the president of the Council, Ualame Machado, also Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense, began with the swearing-in of the new members of Consep and highlighted the importance of integrated work for the formation of strategies and public policies for the public security of the State.

“We are swearing in the councilors of the Military Police, an institution of great importance to our collegiate, and also the new councilor of the Public Ministry, joining efforts so that we can build more and more effective actions for the benefit of all society. We also highlight the integration of the work we do to increasingly strengthen the dialogue between the institutions that work for the improvement of security actions, which aim, above all, at the advancement and protection of civil society,” said the president of Consep, Ualame Machado.

For the new councilor of the PM, Colonel Sérgio Neves, being part of the collegiate is a way to work for effective and constructive actions for society. “Honored to be part of this Council where decisions impact the social life of each one of us, and thus we will engage to address the topics discussed in this collegiate, working to achieve the objectives of this Council so that we can achieve positive results that bring concrete benefits to the society of Pará,” said the councilor and commander of the PM of Pará.

The councilor representing the MPPA, Érika Menezes, emphasized the participation of the body and the formation of dialogues to bring public security closer to the aspirations of civil society. “It is a satisfaction to be part of this council. A mission that has been given to us as representatives of the Public Ministry to have a more attentive look at security, evaluating its indicators and recognizing the dedicated and constant work that is done by its representatives. We will work to always serve as a bridge between the MP and the bodies that are part of this Council for the execution of good services for the population as a whole,” said the councilor of the MPPA.

Consep - Created by State Law 5,944, of February 2, 1996, Consep is responsible for discussing public policies, investigating situations, studying resolutions, and proposing mechanisms for the integrated action of various bodies in the field of public security. The Council is made up of representatives from the Public Security System (Sieds), civil society, and other institutions, such as the OAB, Public Ministry of the State (MPPA), Public Defender's Office of the State (DPE), and the Legislative Assembly of Pará (Alepa).
