This Thursday morning (18) was marked by a moment of intense devotion at the Estação das Docas in Belém. The pilgrim image of Our Lady of Nazaré toured the warehouses and the waterfront of the tourist complex, being received with applause, tears, and gestures of faith by visitors, tourists, and staff who accompanied the passage of the Saint.

The visit was promoted by the Civil Police of Pará in partnership with the Social Organization Pará 2000, which manages the Station, and the Board of the Nazaré Festival. The procession began shortly after noon and continued to the Porto Memorial, where a special rite open to the public was held, with songs, prayers, and emotion. Before that, the image also made a stop at the Tourist Protection Police Station, located in the complex, in a symbolic gesture of faith and welcome to those visiting the city during this period.

Driver Juarez Melo, a devotee of Our Lady of Nazaré since childhood, shared that he came from São Luís to Belém at the age of eight and has participated in the Círio de Nazaré with his family every year since then. Surprised by the presence of the pilgrim image during a brief visit to the Estação das Docas, he was moved to renew his faith and made a special request to the Saint: to achieve home ownership.

“Seeing the Saint up close touches the heart. It’s as if we receive a personal blessing, a hug of faith that renews our strength and brings hope to move forward,” said the visitor, still with teary eyes.

“Receiving the pilgrim image here at the Estação das Docas is always a moment of great emotion. This is a place that represents our culture and our history, and seeing it filled with the faith of the people of Pará fills us with gratitude. The Station transforms during this period and becomes a great space for gathering, welcoming, and celebration,” declared Ruan Rocha, president of OS Pará 2000.

For the Civil Police, the presence of the image at the police station reinforces the commitment to welcome tourists and citizens who pass through the location with faith and respect. “The presence of the pilgrim image in our police station is a symbolic gesture that strengthens our mission to welcome and protect those who visit our State. Participating in such a moment of faith and unity reinforces that security can also walk hand in hand with care and love for others,” stated Guilherme Gonçalves, the delegate responsible for DPTUR.

Círio at the Station 2025

The visit of the pilgrim image to the Estação das Docas opens the calendar of activities for “Círio at the Station 2025,” which will soon have its complete cultural program announced. The event, already traditional during the Círio de Nazaré period, transforms the complex into a space of faith, culture, and celebration, uniting people from Pará and tourists around the Marian devotion that moves the city every year.
