Detran contributes to academic research of Occupational Safety students
The action integrated the training of students from the Technical Course in Occupational Safety at the Juscelino Kubitschek State Agricultural High School

On the morning of last Thursday (18), inspection agents from the State Department of Transit (Detran) participated in a practical activity with students from the Technical Course in Occupational Safety at the Juscelino Kubitschek State Agricultural High School in Marituba, in the metropolitan region of Belém. The action integrated the training of the students, who were able to experience the routine of traffic agents up close.
During the activity, the students interviewed the professionals and learned, in a practical way, about some of the dangers in the daily work of inspection. Among them were exposure to the sun, dust, and constant noise from the roads. Tests were conducted with a decibel meter to measure sound intensity, in addition to dynamics that demonstrated the importance of using protective equipment and taking care of occupational health.
“We saw this action as a significant activity, as it allowed us to clarify to the students what the routine and challenges faced daily by traffic inspection agents are. It is essential for society, especially young people, to understand the importance of this work in ensuring road safety and saving lives,” emphasized Ivan Feitosa, coordinator of Inspection and Operation at Detran.

The agents also clarified doubts and answered questions from the students, establishing a direct dialogue between professional practice and academic training. All the information collected will be used in the preparation of a report, which will be part of the students' Final Course Project (TCC).
According to the organizers, the experience was important to bring future technicians closer to the reality faced daily by traffic agents. In addition to contributing to the students' learning, the action reinforces Detran's commitment to supporting educational initiatives that value health, workplace safety, and citizenship in traffic.
