Oriximiná Regional Hospital has already performed over 1,700 tomography exams in 2025
The health unit offers contrast tomography, enabling accurate diagnosis of various clinical conditions for patients
The Oriximiná Menino Jesus Regional Hospital (HRMJ) performed 1,776 computed tomography exams between January and September 2025. The procedure, which uses radiation to generate detailed images of the inside of the body, is essential in diagnosing various clinical conditions.
The unit also offers contrast tomography, a resource that uses a substance to enhance organs, blood vessels, and tissues, allowing for the identification of tumors, inflammations, and vascular changes with greater precision.
Patient Izeila Melo do Nascimento, 70 years old, a resident of Oriximiná, underwent a contrast urotomography to investigate kidney stones. “I found the exam good, I was well received, and I liked the hospital's service,” she said.
According to the technical director of HRMJ, Cláudio Almeida, the availability of this type of exam is an advancement for health in the Calha Norte region. “The contrast allows for the enhancement of structures that are not visible in simple tomography, such as blood vessels, tumors, and organs of lower density. This ensures more accurate diagnoses and guides the best treatment for the patient,” he explained.
The doctor also emphasized that contrast tomography is indicated in specific situations, such as suspicion of tumors previously identified in ultrasound, vascular changes, and investigations of certain modifications in the physical examination.
100% SUS and humanized care
As a reference in public health, HRMJ serves exclusively through the Unified Health System (SUS). The unit has 26 inpatient beds, an Intensive Care Unit (ICU), and 16 beds for initial care and patient follow-up.
In addition to tomography, the hospital offers colonoscopy, digestive endoscopy, electrocardiogram, digital X-ray, ultrasound (general and with Doppler), as well as laboratory analyses, expanding the diagnostic capacity of the region.
