The State Secretariat for Environment, Climate and Sustainability (Semas) launched last week the RetifiCAR project, which will support rural producers in Pará in the rectification and validation of the Rural Environmental Registry (CAR). The initiative was presented during the 37th Agricultural Exhibition of Marabá (Expoama) 2025, in partnership with the Confederation of Agriculture and Livestock of Brazil (CNA) and the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Pará (Faepa).

The project is part of the Regulariza Pará Program and focuses on strengthening rural unions in guiding producers who still need to complete the environmental regularization of their properties. The proposal aims to ensure more legal security in the field and promote increasingly sustainable agricultural production in the state.

Initial goal of 1,500 rectified registrations

RetifiCAR begins its actions in Pará with an ambitious goal: to rectify 1,500 environmental registrations, a number higher than the initial batches executed in other states such as Minas Gerais, Rondônia, Ceará, Alagoas, Goiás, Rio de Janeiro, Tocantins, Santa Catarina, and Roraima, where the goals range from 300 to 500 registrations.

During the launch, the Deputy Secretary of Management and Environmental Regularity of Semas, Rodolpho Zahluth Bastos, highlighted the potential of the action to boost environmental regularization in the State.

“This partnership between the Regulariza Pará Programs and RetifiCAR, which we launched today in Marabá, is another front of support for rural producers and environmental regularity in the State. The project is the result of dialogue between Semas, CNA, and Faepa, which will now work together and collaboratively to advance the environmental regularity agenda in Pará,” said the manager.

Technical assistance and guidance

On the day of the launch, September 18, rural producers participated in specialized services focused on environmental regularization. During the program, technical guidance was offered for the improvement and completion of registrations, promoting more agility in the compliance process.

For the coordinator in the Directorate of Geotechnologies and Environmental Regularity of Semas, Assucena Lebre, the project marks a strategic advance for the State. “RetifiCAR represents another important advance for environmental regularization in Pará. With it, we are offering rural producers direct support so they can, through rectification, validate and finalize their registrations, ensuring more legal security for properties and strengthening sustainable production,” she explained.

Commitment to sustainable development

The implementation of RetifiCAR reinforces the commitment of the Government of Pará to environmental regularization, while also expanding technical support to rural producers. The initiative contributes to consolidating a model of economic development aligned with sustainability and environmental responsibility in the field.
