The Vice Governor of Pará, Hana Ghassan, and the Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, visited the construction sites of the City Park and the COP30 Village in Belém. They also toured the Vila Galé hotel and private properties where participants of the United Nations Conference on Climate Change will be accommodated next November.

Joining the delegation were the Executive Secretary of the Civil House, Miriam Belchior; the Extraordinary Secretary for COP30, Valter Correia; as well as the Minister of Tourism, Celso Sabino, who accompanied part of the agenda.

The walk through the City Park, which is 99% complete, allowed the head of the Civil House to personally see the structures being set up in the Blue Zone and Green Zone, the main spaces for debates and negotiations of COP30.

"We are very happy to see that what was planned, what was dreamed, is coming to fruition with preparations for COP30. Everything is almost ready for us to welcome the whole world," said Hana Ghassan, who also chairs the State Committee for COP30.

Minister Rui Costa was excited about the building of the Gastronomic Center of the City Park. "We visited the temporary structures and the buildings that will be permanent in the park," he emphasized. "Here, I would say it is the 'palace of meals', where the main restaurants that will serve the public of COP30 will operate. And the best part is that all this equipment will remain as a heritage of Belém and will encourage tourism and the hosting of other major events," Costa highlighted about the Gastronomic Center of the City Park.

Accommodation

The delegation also visited the COP30 Village, which is 91% complete. The project offers 405 suites that will be available for world leaders, delegates, and other authorities. After the Conference, the project will be used as the administrative headquarters of the state government.

Next, Vice Governor Hana Ghassan and Minister of the Civil House, Rui Costa, visited the Vila Galé hotel to inspect the construction work of the project. There, they met part of the staff who qualified through the state program Capacita COP30.

The agenda concluded with visits to properties that have been made available on vacation rental platforms. Both the vice governor and the minister spoke with the owners about the legacy of COP30 in Belém.

On Wednesday (24), Minister Rui Costa will inspect the Port of Outeiro, where the two cruise ships that will serve as floating hotels for the conference delegations will be docked. Around noon, the delegation will hold a press conference.
