Tucuruí Hospital Complex invests in 66 firefighters and receives occupancy certificate from the Fire Department
Regional unit reinforces commitment to the prevention and safety of patients, companions, and health professionals
The Regional Hospital Complex of Tucuruí (HRT and Unacon), managed by the Instituto Diretrizes, held the inauguration ceremony of the Fire and Emergency Brigade on Tuesday (23) and received from the Military Fire Department of Pará the occupancy certificate (Fire Department Inspection Report – AVCB). This action reinforces the institution's commitment to safety, continuous training of staff, and care for life.
The brigade is composed of 66 employees and collaborators, who officially assumed the role of firefighters. All completed a four-day training course, divided into theoretical and practical stages. The content included notions of first aid, fire prevention and combat techniques, as well as legal aspects provided for in Standard NBR 14.276, Technical Instruction No. 08 of the Fire Department of Pará, and related legislation.
“The training involved the active participation of committed professionals, who are now even more prepared to act responsibly and effectively in emergency situations,” emphasized the organizing team.
Certification and safety structure
According to José Anderson Silva, administrative agent and brigade leader, the certification represents the conclusion of a process of improvements that began a few years ago. “Previously, HRT only had fire extinguishers; today we have hydrants, alarm systems, and all the necessary equipment to combat fire outbreaks. With the certification and the appointment of the firefighters, we completed the final step required for the Fire Department to issue our occupancy certificate,” he explained.
The assistant director of the Complex and head of the Brigade, Adilson Moraes, also highlighted the importance of this achievement.
“With the training and certification of our firefighters, we take an important step in safety. Now, with the issuance of the AVCB, our brigade will play a crucial role in maintaining a hospital environment ready to act quickly and safely in risk situations.”
Commitment to prevention and life
For the general director of the Hospital Complex, Junior Souto, the certification symbolizes more than compliance with legal requirements. “The initiative strengthens the culture of prevention and protection of life, ensuring greater safety for patients, companions, and professionals. The brigade members will act voluntarily and are trained to face risk and panic situations, saving lives and reducing losses and damages,” he concluded.
With the issuance of the Fire Department Inspection Report (AVCB), it was certified that the Regional Hospital Complex of Tucuruí meets all fire and panic safety standards, ensuring legal and operational compliance.
