Civil Police arrests suspect for drug trafficking and illegal possession of firearms in Castanhal

The Civil Police of Pará, through the 12th Urban Section of Castanhal, launched, on the morning of this Wednesday (24), the Showcase Operation, aimed at executing preventive arrest warrants and search and seizure against a man investigated for drug trafficking and illegal possession/carrying of firearms and ammunition.

The operation involved joint action from the Jaderlândia Police Station, the Investigation Support Nucleus (NAI) of Castanhal, and support from the Canine Operations Nucleus (NOC) of the Castanhal Civil Guard. The investigation began after reports received by the Civil Police, indicating that the suspect was advertising the sale of drugs and weapons, in addition to flaunting a large amount of cash on social media.

After investigations, the preventive arrest of the suspect was decreed, and searches were authorized at two addresses in Castanhal. “The teams executed the warrants and seized, at the suspect's residence, portions of drugs analogous to marijuana, oxi, and cocaine, as well as a precision scale, mobile phones, jewelry, and R$ 14,000.00 in cash, resulting also in the flagrant arrest for drug trafficking and illegal possession of permitted-use ammunition,” clarified delegate Thiago Dias, regional superintendent of the Salgado Zone.

At another address, portions of marijuana, cash amounts, and a mobile phone were seized, which was damaged by the owner in the presence of the police.

The codename “Showcase Operation” reflects the modus operandi of the suspect, who uses his social media as a "showcase" to display and sell drugs, flaunt weapons, cash, and jewelry to attract interested parties.
