Hemopa and Detran join forces to collect blood donations in Belém
The partnership reinforces the importance of solidarity and expands the population's access to the blood network

The Pará Hemotherapy and Hematology Center Foundation (Hemopa), in partnership with the Department of Transit of the State of Pará (Detran), held a blood donation campaign on Wednesday (24) in the Mangueirão neighborhood of Belém.
For the action, the mobile unit and trailer of Hemopa were set up at the headquarters of the transit agency, ensuring more comfort and accessibility for volunteers. The initiative reinforces the importance of the union between public institutions to expand the reach of the blood network and facilitate the population's access to health services.

The itinerant structure allowed servers, collaborators, and citizens present to donate quickly and safely, contributing to the maintenance of blood stocks that supply hospitals throughout the State. Each collected bag can save up to four lives, benefiting patients in clinical treatment, accident victims, and people undergoing surgical procedures.
Priscila Nobre, a social worker from the Donor Recruitment Management (Gecad) of Hemopa, highlighted the relevance of the mobilization. "This campaign is part of our calendar and is of great importance. In addition to the servers, we are also inviting the external public and people seeking assistance at the site," she explained.

Among the participants, João Paulo Melo made his first donation and emphasized the importance of the gesture. "The motivation came precisely from Hemopa's mobilizations at Detran, along with our institution. This awakened me to the importance of the gesture. I am very grateful to be able to contribute to the blood stock and help people who really need it," he stressed.
