PC arrests six people in action against drug trafficking, illegal arms trade, and criminal organizations

During the police operation, conducted in Barcarena, narcotic substances, weapons, ammunition, and mobile phones were seized from the suspects

In the early morning of this Thursday (25), the Civil Police of the State of Pará launched the operation "Retaking" to execute eight search and seizure warrants in the urban area of the municipality of Barcarena, aiming to dismantle the activities of a criminal organization involved in drug trafficking, illegal firearms trade, and other serious crimes in the region. The operation also aimed to ensure the safe conduct of the 43rd Pineapple Festival for citizens in Barcarena, with an emphasis on preventing crimes during the event.

"During the action, we arrested two men and one woman in the act, as narcotic materials, precision scales, and cell phones were found in their residences. They will be charged with drug trafficking, conspiracy for trafficking, and criminal organization. Another two men were arrested in the act for illegal possession of firearms and ammunition and for criminal organization. During the searches of the properties, a homemade firearm, ammunition, and cell phones were found and seized. The last suspect was arrested as he was evading the prison system. He faces charges of ATM robbery in the city of Castanhal, bank robbery, illegal possession of firearms, and qualified theft," detailed delegate Mhoab Khayan, head of the Regional Superintendence of Baixo Tocantins.

A total of 40 grams of cocaine, one block of 220 grams of marijuana, 20 packets of marijuana, 19 packets of oxi, one precision scale, one DVR, one homemade firearm, five .38 caliber ammunition, and five mobile phones were seized.

More than 35 civil police officers participated in the operation, which was coordinated by the regional superintendence and received support from the Barcarena, Vila dos Cabanos, Acará, and Igarapé-Miri police stations, as well as the Homicide Police Station of Abaetetuba, the Specialized Police Stations for Women (Deam) and for Children and Adolescents (Deaca) of Barcarena, and the Investigation Support Nucleus (NAI) of Abaetetuba, linked to the Police Intelligence Nucleus (NIP).

"This is another successful operation that demonstrates the PCPA's commitment to the safety and tranquility of the population. All the arrested individuals were located and detained in the urban area of Barcarena and were taken, along with the seized materials, to the Vila dos Cabanos Police Station, where judicial police procedures were initiated," said delegate Hennison Jacob, head of the Interior Police Directorate (DPI).

The male detainees are in the process of being transferred to the Abaetetuba prison, and the female detainee will be sent to the women's prison in Belém.
