The startup Inteceleri, resident of the Science and Technology Park (PCT) Guamá, was a finalist in the Finep 2025 Northern Region Award, with the project on bioeconomy and digital transformation of the Amazon, "GeoMeta: learn geometry in the metaverse." The initiative was among the top three in the category of Digital Transformation of Industry to Enhance Productivity.

More than a hundred projects were selected across Brazil, 23 from the Northern Region, and the resident of the Park was among the three selected in the category. "Being among the top three in the region, in this award that is considered the Oscar of innovation, is certainly a great recognition of our work. We thank all the support we have from Finep, from the PCT, which contributed greatly to this. We hope this is the first of many recognitions we will have, and we also hope to somehow be an inspiration for other startups that can also access innovation calls," said Walter Oliveira Junior, CEO of the company.

João Weyl, president of the Guamá Foundation, the science and technology institution responsible for managing the PCT, congratulated the entire team of the Park's startup for their achievement as finalists in the award.

"The nomination of the GeoMeta project, which uses augmented and virtual reality to teach geometry, is a great achievement and shows the talent and innovation of the company. We are very happy to have them as residents here at the Guamá Science and Technology Park and admire the positive impact that these solutions are bringing to mathematical education. The nomination is a well-deserved recognition of the effort, creativity, and commitment of Inteceleri to social and technological innovation."

The award ceremony was held at the Federation of Industries of the State of Amazonas (Fieam), in Manaus, last Wednesday (24). The event was attended by the president of Finep, Luiz Antônio Elias, the director of Innovation of the Funding Agency, Elias Ramos, among other authorities. The winners in different categories will compete at the national stage with the awardees from other Brazilian regions.

Pará ecosystem - For Walter Oliveira Júnior, the recognition and achievements of the company are connected with its presence in the Pará technological park; all the company's growth also comes from this presence in the state's innovation complex.

A resident of PCT Guamá since 2016, the startup focuses on improving basic education, especially in mathematics, through innovative, accessible, and sustainable solutions. It develops the Edutech Amazon project, which has already benefited more than 600,000 students in six states (Pará, Amapá, Ceará, Maranhão, Amazonas, and São Paulo), covering about 23 municipalities, and also explores partnerships and prospects for international expansion.

The company has also gained prominence in the Brazilian business scene in 2024. The magazine Pequenas Empresas & Grandes Negócios included it in the list of "100 Startups to Watch 2024," recognizing the company as one of the most promising in the growing national innovation ecosystem.

About the Finep Award - The aim of the initiative is to publicize the level of Brazilian Innovation and highlight the importance of promoting science, technology, and innovation for the development of the country, increasing competitiveness, and the well-being of society.

Out of three thousand projects contracted between January 2023 and December 2024, three hundred were selected in a first stage. Of these, 144 from across the country accepted Finep's invitation to compete for the regional awards. The regional winners will compete for the national award in each category, which will be presented between November and December 2025, in Brasília.

Both the regional and national winners will receive a Finep Innovation Award 2025 Seal.

Reference in innovation - The Science and Technology Park (PCT) Guamá is an initiative of the government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Higher, Professional, and Technological Education (Sectet), in partnership with the Federal University of Pará (UFPA) and the Federal Rural University of the Amazon (Ufra), and managed by the Guamá Foundation.

It is the first technological park in the Northern region of Brazil, aiming to stimulate applied research and innovative and sustainable entrepreneurship, in order to improve the quality of life of the population.

Located on the banks of the Guamá River, which gives its name to the complex, the PCT is situated between the campuses of the two universities and has a rich biodiversity ecosystem, extending over 72 hectares, designated for buildings and the Environmental Protection Area (APA) of the Metropolitan Region of Belém.

The complex has more than 90 companies among residents and associates, 17 laboratories with over 400 researchers, 44 patents, and a technical school.

The PCT Guamá is part of the National Association of Promoters of Innovative Enterprises (Anprotec) and the International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation (Iasp), and is part of the largest innovation ecosystem in the world.
