In the early morning of this Thursday (2), the Civil Police of Pará launched the "Freedom" operation to combat drug trafficking in the Guamá neighborhood. The investigations aimed at drug trafficking were coordinated by the team from the State Narcotics Division (Denarc) and the Organized Crime Repression Division (DRCO), both units linked to the Specialized Police Directorate (DPE).

Operational support for the action was also provided by the Metropolitan Police Directorates (DPM), the Vulnerable Groups Assistance Directorate (DAV), the State Cybercrime Combat Directorate (DECCC), the State Anti-Corruption Directorate (DECOR), and the Identification Directorate "Enéas Martins" (DIDEM), as well as the Police Intelligence Center (NIP) and the Coordination of Operations and Special Resources (CORE).

Police officers patrol residential streets in the Guamá neighborhood focusing on locations suspected of being linked to a series of crimes

"We deployed more than 350 civil police officers and 80 vehicles for the operation, which had an excellent result in terms of repressing the crime present in the area. Two helicopters from the Public Security Air Group (Graesp) also provided support during the action, conducting aerial monitoring to indicate possible escapes of the targets," explained Raimundo Benassuly, general delegate of the PCPA.

Twenty search and seizure warrants were executed at addresses linked to 11 locations investigated for drug trafficking, association for trafficking, organized crime, among other offenses.

"The Civil Police of Pará works tirelessly to ensure order and public safety for the population. These operations are strategically planned and carried out in an integrated manner with various directorates of the Institution, with the main aim of reinforcing visible policing and repressing criminal activity," emphasized Temmer Khayat, deputy general delegate of the PCPA.

A motorcycle with a theft record was seized. Investigations are ongoing to identify other possible targets, and information about any crimes can be reported by the public through the Disque-Denúncia at the number 181.
