Between September 1 and 30, more than five thousand people were mobilized by the Curupira Mirim Operation in 11 municipalities in Pará.
Coordinated by the Directorate of Public Security Policies and Social Prevention (DPS/Segup), the initiative focused efforts on the hotel sector, ports, airports, bars, restaurants, and services, promoting awareness and monitoring actions to reinforce the protection of children and adolescents and enhance security.

The operation involved 190 agents, and 1,407 police actions and procedures, including reports, precautionary measures, protective measures, and investigations. The head of Segup, Ualame Machado, emphasizes the results of the commitment to safeguard childhood and adolescence. “The Curupira Mirim Operation reinforces the actions of the Government of Pará in protecting our children and adolescents, especially during this preparation period for COP30. The monitoring and awareness actions carried out by Segup, through the DPS, positively impacted the hotel sector and raised societal awareness about the importance of combating sexual exploitation and trafficking of this demographic. We will continue to invest in initiatives like this to ensure a safe and welcoming environment, reaffirming our commitment to the safety and well-being of the people of Pará,” he highlighted.

Educational Actions – In addition to the overt actions, the operation promoted technical visits to commercial establishments, distributing informational materials and guidance on the identification and reporting of violence involving children and adolescents.
