The State Traffic Department (Detran) continues to intensify the training of traffic professionals in the municipalities of Pará. This week, 60 service drivers from the municipality of Bragança, in the northeastern region, are participating in a qualification program promoted by the agency, in partnership with the Municipal Traffic Department (Demutran). The initiative aims to train professionals and improve the quality of services offered to the population and visitors of the region. Between the 6th and 11th of this month, three specialized courses will be held for Emergency Vehicle Drivers, Passenger Collective Drivers, and School Transport Drivers.

The course is conducted by the Traffic Education Coordination and the Public Traffic School Management (Geptran) of Detran and seeks to further enhance the quality of services provided to the population. Participants are being trained both theoretically and practically. In addition to the direct benefits for the population, such as more efficient service and more qualified professionals, the course complies with the regulations of the National Traffic Council (Contran), which requires that all drivers of specialized vehicles, such as ambulances, undergo this training. The training is valid for five years, requiring periodic updates.

The coordinator of the Bragança course, Helen Santos, explains that the training of these professionals is extremely important for the municipality. “Detran, through the Public School Management, in partnership with Demutran, is offering the municipality a training that represents an important advancement in the qualification of these professionals, directly contributing to the improvement and quality of services provided to the population and visitors of Bragança,” she comments.

Led by instructors Carlos Magno and Jaime Ramos, the Specialized Course for Emergency Vehicle Drivers began last Monday, the 29th, and will conclude this Friday, the 4th, benefiting 45 professionals. The next courses will start next week and continue until the 11th for 60 participants aged between 22 and 70 years. In all of them, theoretical subjects are taught, such as specific traffic legislation, defensive driving, first aid, social coexistence and environment, and interpersonal relations.

The coordinator of Geptran, Jomaine Marinho, emphasizes that, in addition to being mandatory, the courses offered by Detran are more accessible and necessary to encourage safe behavior for drivers and passengers. “The law requires this mandatory course with 50 hours of classes to qualify these drivers and ensure that they can be increasingly qualified to obey traffic laws and work within the norms in the exercise of their profession.”
