The Government of Pará promoted, this Sunday (5), an afternoon of music and celebration at the Nova Doca Linear Park in Belém, with the show 'Tarde Latina', presented by the Amazônia Jazz Band and special appearances by singer Gretchen, musician Esdhras, and Banda Warilou. Young people, adults, and children filled the new leisure space in Pará, created to provide community engagement and free access to culture.

The program was organized by the Government of Pará, through the State Secretariat of Culture (Secult), Theatro da Paz, and the Pará Academy of Music, with master sponsorship from the Vale Cultural Institute, via the Rouanet Law. The initiative reaffirms the State's commitment to democratizing access to art and leisure.

Present at the event, Governor Helder Barbalho highlighted that the Nova Doca Linear Park symbolizes a new moment of social interaction in Belém, combining culture and citizenship.

“This is the moment to value our culture, to give people the opportunity to enjoy this space made for the population, with democratic access to art, without needing to pay for tickets. It is a space for everyone, for all,” said the governor.

Helder Barbalho also emphasized the importance of consolidating the new park as a permanent stage for cultural activities.

“We want the Nova Doca Linear Park to be a meeting place for families in Belém and Pará, with orderly and civic coexistence. Our goal is to transform this space into part of a fixed cultural calendar, with Sunday programs that value artists and Pará's culture,” he added.

The show 'Tarde Latina' featured a vibrant repertoire with classics of Latin music and hits from Warilou and Gretchen, with new arrangements created by guitarist Kim Freitas, especially for the Big Band of Theatro da Paz.

"Writing an arrangement for artists like Gretchen and Esdhras, great representatives of Brazilian music, is very rewarding. And playing with my orchestra, the Amazônia Jazz Band, is a great joy,” highlighted the musician.

Singer Gretchen celebrated the partnership with enthusiasm. “This week has been very special. We started with the show at Theatro da Paz and ended here, outdoors. It is a turning point in my career and a dream to be with the Amazônia Jazz Band, with Warilou and with the support of the Government of Pará. I am very happy and hope it happens many times again,” she said.

Leisure and culture for Pará families

Resident of Belém, nurse Ângela Sousa took her family to explore the new space and enjoyed the Sunday performance.

“It has become a very nice place to stroll on the weekend. It’s beautiful, and we were also surprised by the show of the Amazônia Jazz Band, which my family always enjoys watching at the theater,” she shared.

The event reinforced the inclusive and participatory nature of the cultural actions promoted by the State Government, which continues to expand public spaces for community engagement and leisure in Belém.
