Government of Pará promotes exchange of experiences among municipal Procons
Event promoted by the Secretary of Justice brings together representatives from various cities to share information in defense of the consumer

The state government, through the State Secretary of Justice (Seju) and its Consumer Protection and Defense Directorate (Procon Pará), is holding the Meeting of Municipal Procons of the State of Pará from today (6) until Wednesday (8). The event promotes the exchange of experiences and information about consumer protection work in various cities, focusing on the defense of rights in the digital environment and municipal actions.

The opening of the meeting was attended by representatives of the State Consumer Defense Policy, such as the Civil Police (PC), through the Consumer Delegacy, and the State Public Defender's Office (DPE), through the Specialized Consumer Defense Nucleus. The head of Seju, Evandro Garla, emphasized the importance of aligning strategies to ensure justice in consumer relations.

“Procon Pará has already conducted over 13,000 services in 2025. This is a work done in an integrated manner, from service in each municipality to meetings to discuss policies and guidance for consumers. Therefore, this exchange of information from different scenarios is essential to further strengthen the network,” explains the secretary.
Evandro Garla also highlighted that the unit of information and the joint work of different agencies are fundamental to defend the consumer during periods of high commercial activity, such as during the Círio de Nazaré, COP30, and the year-end festivities. The strategy also includes tourists and residents in light of price and service updates in the city.

Consumer Protection - The director of Procon Pará, Gareza Moraes, noted that issues involving the General Data Protection Law and the management of consumer defense funds are the main requests from municipal Procons. “We will also discuss service routines, administrative processes, the system of the National Consumer Secretary, and other topics to enhance consumer protection in Pará,” she added.

The coordinator of the Procon of the municipality of Curuçá, Luana Monteiro, states that the event encourages working even harder for the consumer. “In a meeting like this, we learn about situations we have not yet experienced or develop a new perspective on an old case. Bringing this back to our city is important for consumers, suppliers, and the entire service network.”
