Hospital de Clínicas promotes 'Children's Week' with playful and educational activities at the Pediatric Clinic
The initiative aims to strengthen humanized care and stimulate the comprehensive development of children in treatment

The Gaspar Vianna Clinical Hospital (HC) in Belém is holding 'Children's Week' at the Pediatric Clinic throughout this week, with a special program aimed at hospitalized children and their families. The initiative celebrates children's rights and promotes moments of joy, learning, and interaction within the hospital environment.
The activities on October 6 and 7 were organized by the Hospital Educational Service, carried out through an agreement with the State Department of Education (Seduc), which aims to recover the socialization of children and adolescents and continue their schooling during hospitalization. The initiative also aims to promote the complete and harmonious development of children undergoing cardiological treatment, stimulate solidarity among staff, patients, and families, and reinforce humanization practices in hospital care.

During the workshops, children participated in activities using recyclable materials, transforming simple items into new creations. “The hospital educational service is very important because it reduces school loss, as many are away from school for a while. Here, we can work with various activities. This week, we are focusing on recycling, using materials to create new objects, such as storage containers made from paper rolls,” explained Vanise Cavalcante, a teacher from Seduc who works in the Hospital Educational Service.
The proposal awakens creativity and helps children express feelings and ideas. Little Luana dos Santos, 8 years old, a patient at the clinic, participated in the art workshop and showed enthusiasm for the experience. “I really like to draw, paint, and cut. Today I am making a little pot to keep my markers,” she said excitedly.

For family members, the moment is also one of emotion and relief. Housewife Betânia Brandão, 30 years old, accompanied her daughter Eloah, who is hospitalized and participating in the hospital class. “It is very rewarding to see her participating in the activities. Even being away from studies, here she continues learning and interacting with other children. There is no loss, and that is very important to me,” she highlighted.
Children's Week continues with recreational, educational, and integration activities, promoting a caring environment for the little patients.
