The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) received, this Wednesday (8), the founders of Fazendas S/A, Murilo Rota and Jânio Nogueira, for a meeting focused on advancing sustainable agro-industrial projects in the State.

The meeting reaffirmed Codec's commitment to guiding and connecting investors to initiatives that combine economic growth, environmental responsibility, and social inclusion, expanding the positive impact of the productive sector in the Pará territory.

Fazendas S/A is an agricultural investment company that works on transforming degraded areas into productive and sustainable enterprises, bringing together national and international shareholders. An institutional partner of Codec since 2021, the company maintains consolidated grain operations such as soybeans, corn, beans, and sesame in the municipalities of Paragominas and Ulianópolis, and is now developing a new study focused on the açaí production chain, aiming to diversify its operations and involve local families in a sustainable production model.

The meeting was led by the Investment Attraction Director, Manoel Ibiapina, and included the presence of the New Business Manager, Sabrina Sena, the Foreign Trade Manager, Eduardo Rodrigues, and the environmental engineer Amanda Karolina Santos.

Also participating as a guest was the consultant from the Federation of Agriculture and Livestock of Pará (Faepa), Julival David Ferreira, who contributed with guidance on environmental regularization, opportunities for productive areas, and the Environmental Compensation Program of the State Department of Environment and Sustainability (Semas).

The discussions addressed two main topics: the environmental embargo situation of one of the group's properties and the advancement of the new project by Fazendas S/A focused on the açaí market.

The outcomes defined technical guidelines on environmental regularization and Codec's advisory support in developing feasibility studies for the new project, focusing on sustainability and local income generation.

Director Manoel Ibiapina highlighted Codec's role in articulating and guiding investors, strengthening the institutional environment and creating connections between the productive sector and public policies to promote development.

“Codec acts as a bridge between those who want to invest and the opportunities that Pará offers. Our focus is to support projects that generate positive impact, combining sustainability, social inclusion, and productive diversification,” said the director.

The Faepa consultant, Julival David Ferreira, reinforced the technical guidelines on the Environmental Compensation Program, launched by Semas, which allows the acquisition of compensation quotas for the regularization of embargoed areas.

“The program allows for the regularization of environmental issues in a legal and responsible manner, ensuring the continuity of production while the embargo process is analyzed,” explained the consultant.

The founder of Fazendas S/A, Murilo Rota, emphasized the importance of dialogue with the State and Codec's role in supporting new investments.

“It is important to have these directions and guidelines because when we present a new project, questions arise about how the State views investments. This contact with Codec strengthens trust and demonstrates that there is alignment and institutional support. This makes a difference for us and for investors who believe in Pará,” said Murilo.

Commenting on the new project focused on the açaí chain, Murilo explained that the group recently completed the cycle of acquiring grain areas and is now directing efforts towards the bioeconomy segment.

“We have been studying the açaí market since our last visit to Codec. We spent a week immersed in the riverside communities, participated in events, and talked to local producers. We realized the enormous potential of this chain, which is even more complex and promising than we imagined. Our goal is to understand the market and develop a project that involves local families and generates value for Pará,” he highlighted.

Murilo also reinforced the importance of maintaining a permanent channel of dialogue with the Company, essential to ensure technical clarity and predictability in actions, which strengthens investor confidence and the business environment in the State.

The representatives of Fazendas S/A left the meeting with several technical guidelines and strategic directions, reinforcing their commitment to sustainable investments and the development of initiatives that value human capital and the productive potential of Pará.
