With the aim of encouraging solidarity and contributing to the strengthening of the blood stocks of the Pará Hemotherapy and Hematology Center Foundation (Hemopa), the State Secretariat for Planning and Administration (Seplad) mobilized, this Thursday (09), its employees to participate in the blood donation campaign "At COP30, sustain life. Donate blood," promoted by the foundation.

The campaign continues throughout the month of October, inviting public servants and the general population to participate in this gesture of love for others.

Lilian Bolth, social worker from the Donor Recruitment Management (GCAD), highlighted that Seplad's participation in the state blood donation competition is essential to reinforce Hemopa's stocks, especially during this period leading up to the Círio de Nazaré and COP30.

"Once again, I thank Seplad for participating in our state blood donation competition, which this year has a special importance. We are on the eve of a major event, the Círio de Nazaré, and also preparing for another unique moment, which is COP30, which will take place here in our city. For this period, Hemopa, like all health institutions, needs to be prepared to meet any demand. At this first moment, Seplad's employees are already making an important contribution to keep our stock at safe levels," said Lilian.

Mário Costa, a Seplad employee, believes that donating blood is a simple and supportive act that can save lives, and praised the support of the secretariat for providing structure and transportation to donor employees.

"I have been a donor for some time and I see that it is something very simple; if a person has no health problems, they can contribute and help so many people in need. It costs nothing, just the willingness to do it. I think it's very nice that Seplad always offers transportation and all the necessary structure so that we can come to donate and return safely," concluded the employee.

This is the second time that Seplad participates in a Hemopa campaign in 2025; the mobilization reflects the secretariat's commitment to social responsibility and the encouragement of supportive practices within the workplace.

"I have been a donor for about 15 years and I always participate in the campaigns. I think it is very important to participate because I notice that there are still few people donating blood; I even saw that today. Therefore, whenever Seplad holds a campaign like this, I make a point of donating. It is a way to help others and save lives," expressed Seplad's Practical Arts agent, Marco Antônio.

During the campaign, Seplad employees will be able to donate directly at Hemopa's headquarters in Belém. To ensure participation is counted, just inform that you are a Seplad employee and mention code 1323 at the time of donation.

Requirements to donate:

Be between 16 and 69 years old (minors under 18 must be accompanied by a legal guardian);

Weigh at least 50 kg;

Present an identification document with a photo issued by an official body (digital documents with a photo will be accepted)

Be well-fed (do not be fasting and avoid fatty foods in the 3 hours preceding the blood donation. If it is after lunch, wait 2 hours);

Sleep at least 6 hours in the 24 hours prior to donation.
