Peace Factories offer structure and services for leisure and childhood development
Only in 2025, around 18,000 children were directly benefited by free sports, cultural, and educational activities
On the eve of another Children's Day, celebrated this Sunday (12), the Peace Factories celebrate the results of a continuous work that has been transforming lives and offering growth opportunities for children throughout Pará. Since the inauguration of the first unit of the largest citizenship complex in Latin America in the State, in 2021, thousands of children have found in the Factories a space for coexistence, learning, and dreams.
Only in 2025, around 18,000 children have already been enrolled and directly benefited by the free sports, cultural, and educational activities offered in the State Government's citizenship complexes. With spacious, structured, and safe areas, the Peace Factories have spaces such as sports courts, swimming pools, theaters, playrooms, children's libraries, music rooms, computer labs, and study and coexistence areas, where boys and girls participate daily in workshops of capoeira, dance, theater, arts, school reinforcement, and reading, in addition to sports and music initiation projects.
For many residents, the space represents a new horizon, as retired Simplício Tavares, father of 7-year-old Kayane Silva, a student in the swimming and ballet classes at the Peace Factory in the Icuí-Guajará neighborhood in Ananindeua, recounts. “My daughter is a hyperactive child, so the Peace Factory is helping a lot. Children deserve this affection and attention that we find here. The entire team deserves congratulations for doing the best for the children in our neighborhood. The Factory is very important for all of us,” said the resident of the Metropolitan Region of Belém.
Emotion - From the Guamá neighborhood in Belém, resident Ivone Santos gets emotional when recounting how the Peace Factory helped her granddaughter, Iandra Radassa, fulfill her dream of dancing ballet. “My granddaughter has always loved dance, and the Factory offered us this possibility. For 3 years she has been part of the ballet class, and this has been very important for improving her behavior. It is a service that contributes to her growth in life,” said Ivone. “I really like the teachers and everything the Factory offers me,” concluded Iandra.
According to the Secretary of Articulation and Citizenship, Elieth Braga, working with children is one of the priorities at the Peace Factories. “Children are the heart of the community. When we offer them opportunities for learning, sports, and culture, we are building a better future. The Peace Factories were designed to welcome, protect, and inspire our little citizens,” she emphasized.
Service - In addition to daily care, the Peace Factories are holding a series of special programs this October for Children's Day, with games, cultural presentations, and moments of coexistence.
All activities offered for children at the 17 operational Peace Factories are free. Registrations are made in person at each unit, according to the number of available spots. The complete programming of courses and workshops can also be consulted at the receptions of each Factory or through the official Instagram: @usinasdapaz.
