Resident of Santarém, a municipality in western Pará, DJ Murilo Gonçalves celebrates the transformation in the quality of life of visitors to the new Sports and Leisure Complex of the City Park, delivered a month ago by the state government in partnership with the Municipal City Hall. The investment of R$ 6.7 million now offers multiple options for leisure, sports, and socializing for the entire population.

"It’s impressive how the City Park has transformed the routine of those who enjoy exercising. I now usually walk, run, and even do part of my weight training here, taking advantage of the open and safe environment. It’s a space that inspires quality of life and has undoubtedly become a meeting point for those seeking health and well-being in Santarém," says Murilo Gonçalves.

Children now have a safe space to play

Sports and leisure - The Complex features, in an area of approximately 3.6 hectares, a grass football field, a multipurpose court, a sand court for beach sports, a society field, an outdoor gym, a kids' area with toys, a bike path, a gastronomic space for food trucks, a cultural space for capoeira, a pet area, parking, walkways, and modern lighting.

“The city of Santarém has received another great public facility for its population and region. The Sports and Leisure Complex of the municipality is a place that guarantees sports and leisure activities for all ages, in addition to consolidating itself as an important meeting point for the community, promoting health, well-being, and integration,” emphasizes Ruy Cabral, head of the State Department of Public Works (Seop).

University student Agatha Pereira, a resident of the city, enjoys the space to take her 3-year-old nephew for a walk. “I always bring him to play in the playground, and it’s beautiful to see how the place was designed for the whole family. It’s clean, organized, with a structure that invites you to enjoy your free time peacefully. It has brought a new rhythm to leisure in Santarém,” she concludes.
