Government of Pará delivers over 300 Pai D’Égua CNHs in Soure and Cachoeira do Arari, in Marajó
Social program that guarantees free licensing benefits low-income residents and expands job opportunities in the region

More than 300 residents of the municipalities of Soure and Cachoeira do Arari, in the Marajó Archipelago, benefited from the delivery of driver's licenses from the Social Program CNH Pai D’Égua, an initiative of the Government of Pará, coordinated by the Department of Transit (Detran).
The deliveries took place after the candidates completed their processes. The new drivers received the CNH completely free of charge, with authorization to engage in paid activities.

A resident of Cachoeira do Arari, Bruna Paiva, 27 years old, was one of the beneficiaries. “I learned about the opportunity through social media. I was approved and today I am very happy. I had difficulty learning the content, but I studied, persevered, and obtained the license in categories A and B. Now, I will have faster transportation for my work,” she said.
National leadership - In 2024, the program secured 60,000 slots distributed across the 144 municipalities in Pará, making Pará the state with the highest number of people served with free CNH in Brazil. In addition to the actions in Marajó, beneficiaries from the Metropolitan Region of Belém — including Marituba, Belém, and Ananindeua — have also received their licenses this year.
Created to expand income opportunities and social inclusion, the CNH Pai D’Égua is aimed at low-income individuals, offering the stages of obtaining, renewing, or adding a category of the license free of charge.

During the event, the general director of Detran-PA, Renata Coelho, highlighted the social impact of the program. “It is a pleasure to be here in Marajó delivering free CNHs to those approved in the Program. I want to thank God and everyone who believed in this project of the state government, which is now a model for other states in Brazil. It is very gratifying to see people happy for achieving their license completely free of charge,” she stated.
