This Sunday (19), the Carlos Gomes Foundation offers the Recital for Maria, featuring lyrical singers Madalena Jorge Aliverti, Márcia Jorge Aliverti, Erilo Nery, and pianist Adriana Azulay. The recital, always held during the Nazarene season in Belém, is already part of the institution's annual calendar. The performance will be at 7 PM at the Church of Santo Alexandre, with free admission.

Marian Song
In the special repertoire focused on Marian songs, the audience will witness interpretations of the works Ave Maria (J. Arcadelt), Ave Maria (G. Caccini), Ave Verum corpus, k,618 (W. A. Mozart), Ave Maria (F. Schubert), Ave Maria (Bach-Gound), Ave Maria (P. Mascagni), La roca fria del calvário (J. Serrano), Cantiga de Nossa Senhora (Hekel Tavares), Ave Maria (Astor Piazzolla), Ave Maria (Altino Pimenta), The Prayer (C. Sarger- D. Foster), Ave Maria (Charles Aznavour), and Ave Maria No Morro (Herivelton Martins).

Pianist Adriana Azulay will accompany the performers

According to Professor Madalena Aliverti, the idealizer of the Recital for Maria, "for years we have been researching compositions by Pará authors and classical music focused on lyrical singing with a Marian theme, and every year we present these works in the Círio square."

In addition to soprano and professor Márcia Jorge Aliverti, who is part of the permanent faculty of the Carlos Gomes State Institute (IECG), the recital will also feature singers Márcia Jorge Aliverti and Eriko Nery, who will be accompanied on stage by pianist Adriana Azulay.

"This year, we will sing songs called Ave-Marias, honoring Our Lady of Nazaré, our patroness. We will present well-known songs related to Maria and the Círio, in addition to Pará Ave-Marias and also Marian compositions by authors who dedicated themselves to the theme," explains Madalena Aliverti.

Tenor Eriko Nery

Emmanuel Penna, coordinator of the Music in Museums Project, which this year offers the traditional Marian recital, states that "this presentation is very special for the Foundation and the Carlos Gomes State Institute, as it is our tribute during the Círio, and offering this recital at the Church of Santo Alexandre makes everything even more special," declares the manager.

Music in Museums
The Music in Museums project is promoted in partnership with the Integrated System of Museums and Memorials of the State (SIMM), the State Department of Culture (Secult), and the City Hall of Belém. The initiative holds different recitals with teachers and students who are part of the artistic groups of the Carlos Gomes Foundation and the extension projects of the Carlos Gomes State Institute.
