The General Hospital of Tailândia (HGT) promoted on Thursday (16) another action of the project "Celebrating with Joy," by providing a special party for Aila Sofia, who turned 10 years old while hospitalized in the Pediatric Clinic. This was the child's first hospitalization and also the first birthday she spent away from her family, making the celebration even more significant.

The celebration took place at 4 PM in the hospital's "Playroom," carefully decorated with colorful balloons and signs related to the date. To make the moment even more welcoming, chocolate cake and juice were served, offered under the supervision of the HGT nutrition team, ensuring that everything followed appropriate dietary guidelines.

Present were the patient's mother, Francivânia de Oliveira, the birthday girl's uncle and aunt, two friends, and three volunteers from the Humanization Working Group (GTH).

Aila's mother emphasized the importance of the action in honor of her daughter. "The care has been excellent at HGT. The party made a big difference because she was sad about spending her birthday hospitalized. Seeing her joy while singing happy birthday and having fun brought a lot of happiness to all of us. I am very grateful to everyone who made this moment happen."

The celebration was planned to bring joy and distraction to the birthday girl during her hospitalization. The girl sang happy birthday, received a personalized card prepared by GTH members, and received a doll as a gift.

According to educator Elizabett Gomes, the initiative aims to provide the child with moments of interaction, fun, and warmth, helping to make the hospitalization experience lighter and more meaningful.

"We know that being hospitalized can be a challenging experience, especially on special dates, and small initiatives, like celebrating a birthday, help make the stay lighter, as well as reduce the stress of hospitalization," emphasized the educator.

The professional also highlights that creating opportunities to play, receive attention, and participate in playful activities contributes not only to the emotional well-being of child users but also to strengthening bonds with family and the hospital team, transforming the routine of hospitalization into positive and memorable experiences, as in Aila's case.

About the project - The project "Celebrating with Joy" is part of HGT's humanization actions and aims to ensure that hospitalized patients have meaningful experiences even during treatment. Through celebrations, playful activities, and personalized attention, the project seeks to provide care, warmth, and moments of joy that go beyond clinical care, promoting emotional well-being and strengthening bonds with the hospital team.

Data - HGT offers various services focused on child care. The hospital pedagogy service accompanies children during their hospitalization, developing educational and recreational activities, and has already conducted more than 245 attendances this year. The pediatric clinic, with specialized 24-hour care, and the outpatient pediatrics service also recorded significant numbers: more than 1,067 consultations and 230 hospitalizations just this year.
