Thirty-one tons of cocoa beans were seized on Friday (17), in an operation carried out by the team of state revenue inspectors from the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Araguaia, from the State Department of Finance (Sefa), located on PA-447 highway, KM-15, in Conceição do Araguaia, a municipality in the south of the state. The cargo was valued at R$ 954,906.06, and had left São Félix do Xingu (PA) destined for Ilhéus (BA).

“The driver of a truck presented a fiscal document regarding the 31 tons of cocoa, and the inspectors consulted the Sefa system. It was observed that the invoice reported a value for the goods below the Minimum Price Bulletin. Thus, the amount related to the tax, collected by the taxpayer, was also lower than what was due,” informed coordinator Renato Couto.

A Term of Seizure and Deposit (TAD) was drawn up, totaling R$ 83,647.27, related to the tax and the fine.
