MEP receives exhibition in partnership with Museu da Pessoa starting Saturday (25)
The exhibition discusses the relationship with the Earth and is curated by Ailton Krenak and Karen Worcman

Starting this Saturday (25), the State Museum of Pará (MEP), in Belém, will host the exhibition “Have You Ever Listened to the Earth?”. The exhibition, organized by Museu da Pessoa, proposes reflections on the care and relationship of society with the planet, from a biocentric listening that recognizes all forms of life as equally valuable. Admission is free, and visitation will continue until February 1, 2026, from Tuesday to Sunday, from 9 am to 5 pm.
According to MEP director Bruno Silva, visitors will find a necessary experience that integrates past, present, and future, in what he describes as “an invitation to also think about the future and where we are going.”
“The exhibition addresses the past, analyzing the historical relationship with nature and natural resources, as well as the interaction with traditional peoples. At the same time, it contextualizes the present, actively participating in the debate on environmental preservation, the environment, and traditional communities. Furthermore, the exhibition looks to the future, provoking reflection on the paths to be taken to ensure a harmonious future for all communities and peoples,” Silva states.
He adds that bringing the exhibition to the museum reinforces the role of the space as an environment for debate, education, and cultural promotion. “For the State Museum of Pará, participating in this debate and becoming a space for promoting these discussions is a privilege, allowing it to fulfill its educational mission by addressing crucial themes for Belém and the Amazon,” Bruno explains.
The exhibition is curated by indigenous leader, socio-environmental activist, philosopher, writer, and poet Ailton Krenak, and by historian, founder, and curator of Museu da Pessoa, Karen Worcman.

The exhibition is organized into four interconnected modules: "Manto Cabin", "The Manto", "Rivers of Memory", and "Speak, Museu da Pessoa". In this proposal, the audience begins by responding to the question that names the exhibition in the "Manto Cabin", where each person can record their own story. Next, the visitor enters an immersive environment, "The Manto", covered by a large collective piece made from waste and fabrics from different regions of Brazil. "The Rivers of Memory" present life stories from the six Brazilian biomes and lead to the final stage, "Speak, Museu da Pessoa", where it is possible to learn about the behind-the-scenes of the museum and the exhibition.
This logic of proximity between the audience and debate is also emphasized by Karen Worcman, who recalls the role of stories as a tool for transformation. “Throughout our journey, exhibitions, audiovisual shows, and educational projects have expanded the dialogue with different audiences and shown how life stories are instruments of social transformation. It is in this perspective that we present this exhibition, inviting each visitor to recognize themselves as part of this great common web of life,” she affirms.
One of the proposals of Museu da Pessoa is the digital modality. Those who wish can also access the exhibition in this format, which brings together more than 50 life stories collected from the six Brazilian biomes between 2014 and 2025. The virtual environment features exclusive audiovisual content, behind-the-scenes of the expedition, reflections from Ailton Krenak, and free educational materials for teachers across Brazil. Access is available at escuteaterra.museudapessoa.org.
