State launches "Pró-Mulher Acolhe" space and provides new service totem exclusively for domestic violence cases

The state government, through the Secretary of Public Security and Social Defense (Segup), delivered, this Thursday (30), the "Pró-Mulher Acolhe" space, as an expansion of the Pró-Mulher Pará actions, aiming to ensure biopsychosocial support for women registered in the program. The space is located in the Segup building, on Travessa do Chaco, in Belém.
Pará is the first state in the country to guarantee, through a public security program for women victims of violence, a biopsychosocial support structure composed of a multidisciplinary team, including a social worker, nurse, psychologist, and psychiatrist.
According to the head of Segup, Ualame Machado, the initiative is innovative, as Pará is now the first federative entity to guarantee support for women who have been victims of violence.
"Today, we delivered another service totem for women, which directs them to the Virtual Women's Police Station (Deam). We have already delivered in Belém, Castanhal, and Ananindeua, and now we have one inside Segup. In addition, we are opening an innovative facility throughout Brazil, which is the 'Pró-Mulher Acolhe' space. It is a specific space for the support of women who are already registered in 'Pró-Mulher' or have already obtained protective measures. From now on, they will also have, in addition to police support, psychological, psychiatric, and social assistance, so that we can support these women, ensuring they always have comprehensive protection from the state," he stated.
The new structure of Segup also received a women's service room, with a service totem exclusively for occurrences related to domestic violence, which will ensure access, if necessary, for female employees and also for the population seeking assistance.
Social worker Fernanda Tavares explained the importance of expanding the service in the state, and now, with the implementation of a totem inside Segup, it facilitates access, including for employees who need the equipment.
"Now here at Segup we have the availability of a totem with self-service for women, where they feel more welcomed, safer to make a report, or even receive information about their rights. Because a woman who suffers domestic violence sometimes doesn't have many people to turn to, doesn't know who to seek help from, so here she finds this space and can formalize her report, feel more welcomed, and also have access to all the rights guaranteed by the state, and now also counting on the 'Pró-Mulher Acolhe' space," she explained.
This is the fifth totem delivered in the state, which already has totems in the Usinas da Paz of Icuí-Guajará, Terra-Firme, Castanhal, and the State Women's Hospital. Ten more units are in the installation phase to strengthen the population's access network.
Pink boats
During the agenda, two pink boats were also delivered, the first in Brazil, aimed exclusively at services related to violence against women.
"We acquired vessels, including armored ones, and I highlight the pink vessel, a milestone in the fight against femicide and violence against women in the state of Pará. We are the first security institution in Brazil to have a vessel dedicated to this cause. Regarding this public policy, I recognize the engagement of the vice-governor, Hana Ghassan, who is deeply involved in this issue. Therefore, it is crucial to understand that, in our state, rivers are also access routes, and residents of riverside areas need the same attention as the urban population," emphasized Governor Helder Barbalho.
The new equipment will ensure reinforcement in riverine actions with patrolling, investigation of reports, and overall security enhancement.
