Government of Pará and Detran send messages via WhatsApp to guide the population on roadblocks during COP30
The action reaches over 420,000 contacts in the Metropolitan Region of Belém and reinforces direct communication with citizens

The government of Pará, through the State Department of Transit (Detran), has started sending informative messages via WhatsApp to the population of Belém. The action aims to keep citizens informed about roadblocks and traffic changes from November 2 to 21, during the pre-sessions, the Leaders' Summit, and the 30th United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP30).
The general director of Detran, Renata Coelho, emphasized that the initiative reinforces the agency's commitment to accessible and efficient public communication:
“Our goal is to ensure that citizens have quick and direct access to information about traffic during COP30. Safe mobility also depends on good communication, and WhatsApp is a strategic tool to bring Detran closer to the population at this time of great movement in the city,” she stated.
The action, which was presented on the afternoon of this Thursday (30) by the Secretary of Public Security, Uálame Machado, during a press conference about the COP30 Mobility Plan, reinforces the State government's commitment to urban mobility, road safety, and direct communication with citizens during a period of great importance for Pará.
“Messages will be sent to over 420,000 contacts of people residing in Belém, Ananindeua, Marituba, and Benevides, registered to receive information from Detran. The content provides practical guidance for those who need to travel through the capital, especially in areas near the Parque da Cidade, where there will be blockades and controlled access,” he explained.
According to Detran, the roadblocks will be staggered, with stricter restrictions on November 6 and 7, during the Leaders' Summit.
Among the recommendations sent to drivers and pedestrians are:
* Taxi: pick-up and drop-off only on Visconde de Inhaúma Avenue;
* App drivers: pick-up and drop-off only on Rômulo Maiorana Avenue;
* Route planning: follow temporary signage and the guidance of traffic agents.
In addition to text messages, Detran has made available a PDF card with a map, alternative routes, pick-up and drop-off points, and periods of roadblocks, to facilitate the population's movement during the event. The initiative reinforces the State government's commitment to urban mobility, road safety, and direct communication with citizens during a period of great movement in the capital.
