Codec advances negotiations with the Knauf Group for industrial expansion in Pará
International investor, global reference in industrial solutions in EPS, reinforces the State's potential as a sustainable logistics and industrial hub
The Pará Economic Development Company (Codec) received, on Thursday (30), representatives from the Knauf Group, a global reference in industrial solutions in EPS (expanded polystyrene) and one of the largest companies in the sector worldwide. The company, which recently acquired Isoeste in Castanhal (a municipality in the Metropolitan Region of Belém), expressed interest in expanding its presence in Pará and consolidating the State as a strategic base for distribution in the North, Northeast, and Midwest regions.

The agenda was organized in partnership with the State Secretariat for Economic Development, Mining and Energy (Sedeme), and is part of the Government of Pará's initiatives to strengthen the business environment, attract productive investments, and boost sustainable industrial projects, generating jobs, income, and innovation.
During the meeting, Knauf Isopor's representative, Márcia Cristina Gomes, presented the company's portfolio and highlighted the versatility of EPS, a 100% recyclable material used in strategic sectors such as food, health (including thermal packaging for vaccine transport), fishing, automotive, household appliances, and civil construction. She emphasized that Pará offers logistical advantages, market potential, and a favorable institutional environment, particularly highlighting the State's commitment to a green economy and industrial decarbonization.
The executive also sought information about the available tax incentive mechanisms in the State, showing interest in understanding the conditions offered by Pará for new investments and industrial expansion. The company indicated that it would return to Codec after its schedule of institutional events to advance negotiations and detail the next steps, in an agenda to be coordinated with partner institutions.

Logistics platform - The Director of Business Attraction and Investments at Codec, Manoel Ibiapina, highlighted the favorable moment for new investments in the State. According to him, "Codec has been working to ensure that more and more companies find in Pará a safe environment to invest, innovate, and grow. The arrival of new groups reinforces the positive moment that the State is experiencing, driven by planning, infrastructure, and commitment to sustainability. Welcoming Knauf demonstrates that Pará is on the global radar as a logistics and productive platform, and we are ready to support every step of this process, connecting opportunities, facilitating access to incentives, and promoting modern and responsible industrialization," he stated.
The Investment and Business Attraction Advisor at Codec, Lorena Aguiar, emphasized the Company's role in articulating with the productive sector. "Knauf identified Pará as a competitive territory to expand operations and develop industrial solutions based on circularity and efficiency. Our role is to monitor, guide, and coordinate with institutional partners to ensure that the process is agile, transparent, and aligned with the State's potential. It is very positive to see forward-looking companies seeking Pará, and Codec will continue to be present at every stage to turn interest into concrete investments and opportunities for the population," she highlighted.
Codec will continue to monitor and provide support to the Knauf Group, offering institutional and technical support, reinforcing the Government of Pará's commitment to attracting responsible investments, strengthening strategic chains, and promoting sustainable economic development throughout the State.
