Civil Police arrests two men in the act for extortion through kidnapping and criminal association
The action of the Delegacy of Repression to Bank Robberies and Anti-Kidnapping clarifies a crime that occurred last Monday (27), against an 82-year-old man, in Ananindeua
On this Thursday (30), the Civil Police, through the Delegacy of Repression to Bank Robberies and Anti-Kidnapping (DRRBA), linked to the Division of Repression to Organized Crime (DRCO), arrested two men in the act for the crimes of extortion and criminal association. The arrest occurred after the police team became aware of the crime that took place on the night of last Monday (27), in Ananindeua, with an 82-year-old man as the victim.
Delegate Augusto Potiguar, head of the DRCO, explained that during the investigative diligences, it was found that the criminal practices suffered by the victim were ongoing, this time through subsequent extortions committed by one of the arrested individuals, who had a friendship relationship with the victim. "The investigated individual had been threatening and demanding money from the victim under the pretext of having taken out loans amounting to R$ 100,000 from loan sharks, an amount that, according to him, had been used to pay the ransom related to the kidnapping. During the investigations, it was also found that the investigated was one of the intellectual authors of the crime of extortion through kidnapping that occurred last Monday," he highlighted.
Based on the information obtained, the teams moved to Castanhal and located the investigated individual at the moment he was heading to Ananindeua, where he intended to pass part of the amount received from the victim to another member of the criminal group.
"During the approach, the criminal confessed his participation in the investigated crimes, admitting to having received amounts in his bank account from a transfer made by the victim. Initially, he claimed that he demanded the amounts to settle a debt with loan sharks, related to a loan taken to pay the victim's ransom, a version that was later disproven. He acknowledged that it was a lie to obtain undue financial advantage, committing to pass part of the amount to the other accomplices," stated delegate Felipe Castro from the DRRBA.
Continuing with the diligences, the first individual informed that he would meet another man to pass part of the money. The teams located the second involved, who also confessed his participation in the crime of extortion and kidnapping, acting as the victim's guard in captivity and being in possession of relevant information for the continuation of the investigation.
The arrested individuals were taken to the DRCO headquarters, where the records of the arrest in the act for the crimes of extortion and criminal association were drawn up. They remain at the disposal of Justice.
