The Secretary of Finance (Sefa) and the Civil Police of Pará (PCPA) took another step towards strengthening integration and efficiency in combating tax evasion by signing a Cooperation Agreement this Friday (31). "This partnership reinforces the State's commitment to fiscal justice and the modernization of public administration," said the Secretary of Finance, René Sousa Júnior.

Sefa and the Civil Police are already developing integrated actions within the Interinstitutional Committee for Asset Recovery of the State of Pará (Cira/PA), created to act in an integrated manner in the collection of credits registered in the active debt. The Cira includes representatives from the Attorney General's Office (PGE), Secretary of State for Finance (Sefa), Civil Police, and the Public Ministry of Pará (MPPA).

"And now, with the Cooperation Agreement, we take another step in the modernization of public management and in strengthening the fight against tax evasion," he stated. The head of Sefa recalled that data sharing will ensure more agility, efficiency, and security in joint actions, respecting the General Data Protection Law (LGPD) and the Access to Information Law (LAI).

Sefa is expanding integrated actions with other agencies in border areas, and the implementation of the river unit for controlling goods in transit is underway.

The General Delegate of the Civil Police, Raimundo Benassuly, emphasized that cooperation between the agencies avoids duplication of efforts, increases transparency, and strengthens the fight against tax crimes throughout the State. "The investigative police provide the necessary information for the work of the Public Ministry. This partnership is very welcome and an important advance for the State," he said.

Delegate Victor Leal informed that the cooperation between the Tax Authority and the Police has been planned for a long time, and that several actions already implemented have brought positive results. "Public safety is not achieved in isolation, but with integration between institutions," he concluded.

The integrated work is necessary to ensure that the State receives the due tax amounts, reminded the Undersecretary of Tax Administration, Eli Sòsinho, emphasizing that integrated actions enhance results.

Also participating in the event were Delegate Vicente Leite from the Strategic Planning Advisory; Delegate Manoel Fausto, Delegate Paula Nyandra, and Delegate Bruno de Menezes.

From Sefa, participated Lourival Barbalho, Deputy Secretary of the Treasury; Paulo Veras, Director of Inspection; Emanuel Souza, Director of Tax Credit; Rosemary Nascimento, Director of Collection; Walcir Nogueira, Director of Analytical Environment; Anidio Moutinho, Director of Administration; and Humberto Barros, Director of Information Technology. And from the Interinstitutional Committee for Asset Recovery (Cira), the president, prosecutor Jair Marocco, was present.
