Inspection carried out this Sunday (2) at the tax post of the State Department of Finance (Sefa), at KM-09 of the Transamazon Highway (BR-230), in Marabá, southeastern Pará, resulted in the seizure of two thousand boxes of various alcoholic beverages, including cider, wine, whiskey, brandy, and sparkling wine, totaling 7,752 bottles. The cargo, valued at R$ 197,217.93, was seized by state revenue inspectors assigned to the Coordination of Control of Goods in Transit of Carajás.

"The truck transporting goods from the municipality of Belém (PA), destined for Canaã dos Carajás and Parauapebas (both in southeastern Pará) was stopped for document analysis. After consulting Sefa's systems, it was found that the goods were subject to the advance payment of tax upon entering Pará territory, as determined by current legislation, and that the taxpayer failed to collect the ICMS within the regulatory deadline," informed coordinator Cicinato Oliveira.

A Seizure and Deposit Term (TAD) was drawn up, amounting to R$ 134,369.30, charging the ICMS and fine.

Sefa has eight units for controlling goods in transit in border areas, to monitor the entry and exit of goods in the State.
