Military Police Reinforces Security at Strategic Points in the River Area during COP30
The 24-hour patrol includes eight vessels, distributed between the Outeiro District, Combu Island, and the base of the River Group.
The Military Police of Pará, through the Independent Company of River Police (CIPFlu), started on Monday (3) Operation COP30, with reinforcement in hydro-traffic policing at strategic points in the Metropolitan Region of Belém. The action aims to ensure the safety of tourists and residents during the international event.
The service of CIPFlu is carried out from a floating base, installed at the Outeiro Port Terminal, where two cruise ships with a capacity for more than 6,000 people docked on Tuesday (4). With the arrival of the ships and the increase in movement in the area, the river policing is prepared to quickly and efficiently assist tourists and the local population.
Integration - The operation includes the integrated action of CIPFlu, River Group (GFlu), and Federal Police, ensuring surveillance in areas of high circulation and the main river access points in the region.
According to the commander of CIPFlu, Major Rafaelly Gentil, the Military Police is ready to ensure the safety of the road network throughout COP30. “We are acting in an integrated manner, with teams positioned in Outeiro (district of Belém) and on Combu Island, conducting 24-hour patrols. We will also be present at the Miramar Terminal in Icoaraci, ready to respond to any occurrences in the islands and nearby regions,” she informed.
The operation includes eight vessels distributed between Outeiro, Combu Island, and the base of the River Group. The policing also covers tourist spots and river routes leading to areas expected to receive a large flow of visitors during the event.
The Military Police emphasized that any request for help or emergency can be made by calling 190, which operates 24 hours. Additionally, foreigners can call the emergency number of their home countries: Europe, number 112, and the United States of America, number 911, which will be automatically directed to the Integrated Operations Center (CIOp), ensuring quick and efficient assistance during the environmental conference.
