The Museum of the Amazons announces a special program during the 30th United Nations Conference on Climate Change (COP30), which will take place in Belém. From November 10 to 21, the space will transform into a major meeting point for ideas, research, and cultural expressions, bringing together experts, artists, traditional communities, and national and international institutions around the central theme: the future of the Amazons in the face of the climate crisis.

Designed to be a space for dialogue and exchanges between different knowledge and perspectives on the Amazons, the Museum reaffirms this purpose in its agenda during COP30, which will feature debate panels, workshops, book and documentary launches, performances, workshops, and collaborative actions. The program is the result of partnerships with museums in Brazil and research institutions from various countries, such as the Museum of Tomorrow, the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT), the Inhotim Institute, the International Council of Museums (ICOM Brazil), and the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation (MCTI), among others.

“The Museum of the Amazons is born as a living space, where different languages and knowledge meet to think about the possible futures of the region and the planet. Our programming during COP30 reflects this spirit of collaboration and diversity, bringing together voices from science, the arts, and Amazonian communities around a common purpose: to build collective paths in the face of the climate emergency,” highlights Grazielle Giacomo, technical manager of the Museum of the Amazons.

About the Museum of the Amazons
Inaugurated on October 4, 2025, the Museum of the Amazons is the result of a broad network of collaborations that brings together different spheres of public power and private initiative around a common purpose: to value, preserve, and project the cultural, scientific, and environmental heritage of the Amazons. More than a Museum of Amazonian sciences and technologies, the Museum is a symbol of cooperation and collective commitment to the future of the region and the planet.

The initiative is from the Government of the State of Pará, carried out by the State Secretariat of Culture of Pará and the Ministry of Culture, through the Federal Law of Incentive to Culture (Rouanet Law), with the participation of the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation. Its conception and implementation were conducted by IDG - Institute of Development and Management, in partnership with the Museu Paraense Emílio Goeldi. A successful example of cooperation between the State and private initiative, the Museum of the Amazons has Vale as a Strategic Partner, international support from CAF, technical partnership from BNDES, and financial support from Finep. It also counts on the collaboration of companies such as Hydro, New Fortress Energy, Ipiranga, Mercado Livre, and Ultracargo.
