The third day of Techzone, held this Wednesday (12) at the Guamá Science and Technology Park in Belém, brought together managers, researchers, and specialists to discuss how innovation can strengthen public policies aimed at the environment and land governance in the Amazon. With the theme "Technology and Environmental Preservation: Technological solutions, monitoring, and environmental preservation," the event highlighted digital tools and strategies that contribute to a more agile, integrated, and sustainable management.

SICAR 2.0 and advances in environmental regularization

During the program, the coordinator of Geotechnologies at the Pará State Department of Environment and Sustainability (Semas), Sandra Lobo, presented SICAR 2.0, the new phase of the Rural Environmental Registry System (CAR). The update brings together different databases in a single environment, facilitating technical work and user experience.

"With the new system, both the owner and the department will have access to the same information on a single platform. This brings more clarity and agility to analyses and environmental management," explained Sandra.

Data integration and science as pillars of public policies

Researcher at the Amazon Environmental Research Institute (IPAM), Jarlene Gomes, emphasized the importance of integrating platforms and data science as essential bases for efficient public policies at the municipal, state, and federal levels.

"Technology is the guiding thread of the entire environmental and land regularization process. When we integrate data and platforms, we achieve faster and more efficient decisions," stated the researcher.

She also highlighted that expanding access to digital systems is fundamental to democratizing regularization. "If I can, for example, integrate a citizen's CPF directly into the system, I can accelerate regularization and make the process more transparent and democratic," she added.

Land governance and reduction of deadlines

In the panel on land governance, the coordinator of Urban Policies at the Pará Land Institute (Iterpa), Gabriel Ferreira Nadário, presented significant results from the digitization of regularization processes in the state. According to him, Pará has overcome decades of obstacles with the use of new technologies and legislative advances.

"The state faced a real land chaos. Today, we have managed to reduce deadlines that reached 14 years to, in some cases, one week. More than 44,000 titles have been delivered, benefiting around 200,000 people," Nadário highlighted.

The manager also emphasized that the development of technologies within the state itself has contributed to solutions adopted by other federative entities and the federal platform. "Solving the land problem in the Amazon helps create solutions applicable throughout the country," he added.

Amazon as a space for innovation

The discussions reinforced that the use of satellites, geospatial data, and integrated systems positions the Amazon as a true living laboratory for solutions that unite science, technology, and sustainability. For the participants, digital modernization drives public management, strengthens climate justice actions, and consolidates more effective environmental policies.
