The state government, through the Housing Company of Pará (Cohab), has guaranteed the housing benefit "Your House" for about 20 thousand families in the Rio Capim Integration Region. Families from the region, residing in urban and rural areas of the following municipalities: Abel Figueiredo, Aurora do Pará, Capitão Poço, Concórdia do Pará, Dom Eliseu, Ipixuna do Pará, Mãe do Rio, Ourém, Rondon do Pará, and Tomé-Açu were benefited.

The housing benefit, which consists of a check for the purchase of construction materials, can reach up to R$ 21 thousand, including funds allocated for the payment of services, so that families in situations of social vulnerability can secure better housing conditions.

The president of Cohab, Manoel Pioneiro, emphasizes that the program is advancing in all integration regions and consolidating itself as an important tool to tackle the housing deficit and inadequacy in the state. “Families can obtain the resources to build housing from scratch, renovate, expand, or adapt the residence – in the latter case, especially when there are people with disabilities (PwD) in the family unit. The program brings quality of life and dignified housing to those who need it most,” Pioneiro pointed out.

In Ourém, farmer Maria Campos Nascimento, upon receiving the benefit, said that she lived in a house without basic living conditions and that the benefit came at the right time. “My house is very bad, I live stepping on 'dirt', because there is no flooring, and now I received this blessing and will be able to realize the dream of fixing my house,” she said.

Antônio Rodrigo Souza used the benefit to improve the conditions of his house

In Ipixuna do Pará, Antônio Rodrigo Souza, a Person with Disability (PwD), who received the second phase of the program, said that the benefit is a turning point in his life. "Before, I lived in a wooden house, with no living conditions, and it was even harder due to my condition as a wheelchair user, today I am building a house with two bedrooms, one being a suite, which makes my life much easier. I am very grateful to the government for the benefit,” he highlighted.
