Uepa highlights solutions for energy, industry, and transportation at COP30
Panel at the Pará Pavilion presented studies on energy efficiency, decarbonization, and urban mobility, reinforcing the role of the University in the sustainable transition
The State University of Pará (Uepa) participated, this Friday (14), in the panel "Articulation of Energy, Industry, and Transportation for a Sustainable Future," a program at the Pará Pavilion in the Green Zone of COP30.
The meeting was coordinated by Professor Mariana Carneiro, addressing experiences focused on innovation in industrial processes, with an emphasis on circular economy, resource efficiency, and reduction of environmental impacts. "We were able to present some of the solutions developed by the State University for innovations in the industry, focusing on energy, on resource efficiency, showing a bit of the research on this theme," explained the professor.
She added that "the research addressed urban mobility, energy management, strategies for decarbonizing the production chain, and also the relationship of these strategies with social facts, with the improvement of quality of life, avoiding new extreme disasters."
Commitment - The debate also highlighted social benefits, such as the generation of green jobs and improvement of health and safety for workers, reinforcing the commitment to a more sustainable and just development.
“Bringing this research to COP30 shows that the Amazon produces strategic knowledge to guide public policies. The exchange of experiences here at the Pará Pavilion highlights that we need innovation with responsibility, always considering people and territories,” said Lucas Ribeiro, a graduate student who attended the program.
