Governor Helder Barbalho received, this Sunday (16), the Executive Vice President of CAF - Development Bank of Latin America and the Caribbean, Christian Asinelli, for a technical visit to the Bioeconomy Park in Belém. The objective was to present the structural and conceptual advances of the space, which is part of the strategy of the Bioamazon Valley of Technology, and to strengthen dialogue for future international cooperation aimed at sustainable development in the Amazon.

During the visit, which was accompanied by the Secretary of Environment, Climate and Sustainability of the State, Raul Protázio Romão, and the Secretary of Culture, Ursula Vidal, Helder guided Asinelli through the main areas of the park, highlighting initiatives that unite science, technology, innovation, green economy, and social inclusion. The Vice President of CAF praised the pace of implementation of the complex and reaffirmed the institution's willingness to expand support for the strategic actions of the government of Pará.

“We are very happy to be here with the governor at this event. We were here a few days ago when the Amazon Museum was inaugurated, and in this short time, we have already seen the exponential growth of this great work that the governor is doing. We are here to continue supporting the different stages, and we recently mentioned that when COP is over, we will certainly continue to expand this cooperation,” said Asinelli.

The governor emphasized to the CAF representative that the Factory Laboratory will be fundamental to generate regional development, expand opportunities, and position Pará as a global reference in the transition to a green economy.

“CAF represents one of the most important development and funding agencies in our region, the region that makes up Latin America. Therefore, we wish for you to be with us in strengthening the strategy of the Bioamazon Valley of Technology so that, from this regional connection, we can generate sustainable development for the Amazon as an example for the world,” emphasized the governor.

One of the highlights of the visit was the Factory Laboratory, located in Warehouse 6, considered the epicenter of technological transformation of the Bioeconomy Park. The space brings together cutting-edge infrastructure for prototyping, processing, experimentation, and scaling of bioindustrial products that use inputs from the forest.

The initiative integrates research, startups, traditional peoples, investors, and productive sectors, consolidating Warehouse 6 as a strategic environment to accelerate innovative businesses and strengthen the Amazonian bioeconomy.
